PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Jason Ellis (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Big Peter (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Ellis comes to the cage accompanied by Applejuice by Taintstick. These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 6 - 8 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Jason Ellis!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Big Peter!
The judges for this bout are Gwen Towbar, Wesley Smith and Stewart Dunkirk.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Ellis throws a hook to the body but it doesn't connect.
Ellis tries to land with a swinging hook to the body but Peter was well out of range. Poor timing from Ellis.
Ellis misses with a double jab.
Ellis throws an uppercut from half a mile away. Peter sees it coming and avoids it easily.
Ellis throws a lazy right hand but Peter sees it coming a mile off and sidesteps it easily.
Peter blocks a jab.

Ellis closes the distance and gets a trip takedown into side control. Peter quickly recovers to half guard.

Ellis wants to pass to mount but Peter is defending the position.
Peter has hold of Ellis's hands but Ellis slips his arm to the side and lands an elbow.
Ellis content to control rather than advance.
Ellis throwing shots but they're hitting the canvas more than the man.

Ellis really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.

We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Peter can do anything to dispel that myth.

It looks like Big Peter has been cut.
Ellis has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.

That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action.

Ellis throws a hook to the side of Peter's head but Peter sees it coming and ducks under it beautifully.
Ellis lands a jab. Then a cross. Then finally a nice hook to the body. Good work there by Ellis.

Ellis thows a left - swing and a miss!

Ellis swings for the body but Peter moves out of range.

Peter moves out of range as Ellis strikes.
Ellis throws a series of punches but Peter avoids them all with ease.

Ellis drops back for a leg but he's not going to get it - he lets go and Peter dives on top into guard.

The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action! Let's hear some noise people - this is the final round!

Ellis looks for a takedown but Peter sprawls well.
Ellis is really head hunting here, hardly looking to strike to the body at all.

A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd.

Ellis is desperately trying to improve his position but Peter has a good base and remains in mount.

The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.
Ellis is desperately trying to get back to half guard.
It looks like the ref is thinking about a standup.

And that's the end of the fight!
Big Peter comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
Well Ellis has outscored his opponent in every aspect of the fight today. Only a scarily incompetent judge or two will keep him from a well deserved win... Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
