PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Vinicius Ferrari (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Thiago Lima (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Both these guys have really solid chins. Will we see a standup war or will they both decide that a knockout is unlikely and try to win the fight elsewhere?

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Ferrari misses with a body shot. Nice footwork from Lima.
Lima throws a series of punches but Ferrari avoids them all with ease.
Lima dodges the punch combination from Ferrari.
Ferrari lands with a cross to side of his opponent's head.

It looks like Thiago Lima has been cut.
Lima shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Ferrari but Ferrari pushes him off and we're back to square one.
Ferrari throws a looping overhand right but Lima ducks down to avoid it.
Nice body punch from Ferrari.

Nice combo by Ferrari! Oh, that's hurt him - Lima falls to the canvas and Ferrari follows him into side control.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
A bit of a lull in the action. I'm sure it will pick up again soon... even if the ref has to physically pick them up and put them back on their feet.
Ferrari wants to lay and pray for a moment but Lima keeps working.
Lima is trying to escape the position but Ferrari is controlling the position.
Lima is not content to let Ferrari control the position.

Vinicius Ferrari has forced the referee to step in and bring the fight back to the feet.
Ferrari misses with a looping left.
Lima looks frustrated there after his takedown attempt is stuffed easily.
Ferrari looks to score with a jab to the body but Lima is just out of range.
A big right from Ferrari misses.
Ferrari throws a big shot that misses.
Ferrari lands a vicious shot with the stealth of a sniper and the strength of a viper. Are vipers that strong? I can think of lots of things that are stronger than a viper - not many rhyme with sniper though.
Lima moves away from the strike by Ferrari.
Lima throws a hook to the body but it doesn't connect.
Lima swings wildly with a couple of big hooks
and Ferrari counters with a straight punch to the midsection.
Ferrari connects with a lovely jab that went straight through the gap between Lima's hands.

Ferrari catches Lima with a nice straight right. He seems pissed - ooooh, it's on now! On like donkey kong!

That has opened up Thiago Lima's cut even more.

and Lima counters with a nice jab to the body that keeps Ferrari thinking.
Lima looks shocked there as he takes a right hand to the temple.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Ferrari punishes Lima's body with a nice straight punch.

Lima throws a jab, cross combination which is slipped
and Ferrari counters with a lovely straight right hand!
Lima misses with a takedown attempt
and Ferrari makes him pay by landing a nice hook to the body before moving out of range.
Vinicius Ferrari has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Thiago Lima.
Lima takes one on the chin but keeps coming.

The cut above Thiago Lima's eye is starting to cause him problems now.

Thiago Lima seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Lima shakes his hands off, looking to compose himself, but takes a jab to the jaw whilst he does it.

Ferrari lands an uppercut out of nowhere! Lima falls backwards - clearly groggy! Ferrari dives in and finishes the fight with more strikes for a TKO finish!
