Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Paul Jones (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Donnie Depew (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). The crowd giving both fighters a great reception on their way into the arena. That's good to see.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 2 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Paul Jones!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Donnie Depew!
The judges for this bout are Tarja Halkonen, Marco Blurström and Ben Zyskovitsi.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Depew scores to the head and body with a nice combination!

Jones gets a clinch.
Jones has Depew pressed against the cage, preventing Depew from circling away and getting back to striking at range.

Depew is looking to stand up but Jones won't let him.

Jones is trying to keep Depew in close.

Depew gets to his feet. Jones looking to butt scoot but the ref puts an end to that. On your feet son!

Depew is looking to stand up but Jones isn't so interested in that idea.

Depew might have to switch it up a bit here because his efforts to control Jones kaven't been going to plan, at least at the current moment in time.
Depew wants to sweep here but Jones controlling him for the moment.

The ref stands the fighters back up. Donnie Depew was stalling too much, according to the referee.

Jones is pressing down on Depew's thigh, looking to free his foot. Depew is holding on for now.
Jones wants to lay and pray for a moment but Depew keeps working.

OK we're going to have a standup here. Donnie Depew hasn't been effective enough on the ground and the referee wants a restart.

and Depew counters with a three punch combo that has Jones backing up. Jones nods at Depew to acknowledge the strikes.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Jones seems very keen to just sit and control from half guard but Depew does not like that idea so much and is remaining active off his back.

Depew is pushing down on Jones's leg trying to pass to half guard. Jones is fighting to maintain full guard but Depew has managed to sneak the leg through.
Depew working some ground and pound from close in. He's looking to maintain this position and strike for a while by the looks of things... although he'll probably advance to full mount in a minute now I've said that.
Depew wants to stand up but Jones has a hold of him and won't allow it.
Jones tries to kick Depew off but Depew keeps his base steady and stays in half guard.

Well I reckon that's a shut out for Jones, winning every round. Will the judges agree? They are the ones who matter, even if they are often depressingly incompetent. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
