PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Constantin Tepes (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Ren Gracie (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Gracie has chosen Summer Madness (Extended Version) Remix as his entrance music. On his way into the cage it seems that Constantin Tepes has been attacked by a crazed fan! It looks like it might have been the just bleed guy! Luckily Constantin Tepes seems to be OK! I thought that lunatic was in prison!?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Gracie throws a body punch but Tepes moves out of range.
Gracie throws a hook but Tepes avoids it easily.
Danga de danga de dang - Tepes scores with a four punch combination!
Tepes changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Gracie tries to avoid it but Tepes manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Gracie to the ground. Gracie escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.
Tepes avoids a kick to the body.
Tepes tries to bum rush Gracie with a series of wild strikes but Gracie uses good footwork to avoid the assault.
Gracie just misses with a punch to the body.
Gracie lands with an overhand left.

It looks like Constantin Tepes has been cut.
Gracie changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Tepes tries to avoid it but Gracie manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Tepes to the ground. Tepes escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.
Tepes connects with a right hand. Gracie shakes it off.
Gracie throws a body punch but Tepes moves out of range.
Gracie lands a lovely overhand right.

Tepes loading up with the ground and pound but he's missing more than he's landing in this flurry.
Gracie working the defensive guard well to avoid strikes from Tepes.
Tepes trying to move into half guard but instead Gracie has managed to sweep!
Gracie is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two.
Gracie stands and throws Tepes's legs to the side, diving into side control.

Gracie tries for a kimura. Not really close to a finish though.

Gracie thinks about going for a far side armbar but bails out and retains the dominant position instead.

Gracie is working to tighten is grip on Tepes's neck. He's isolated an arm and is working for an arm triangle. Tepes has recognised the danger and is trying to turn with the submission but Gracie is really squeezing tight and eventually Tepes passes out! Gracie breaks the hold and jumps onto the cage to celebrate! Submission of the night, I'd say!
