The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Kovalenko throws a series of punches but Nechvidov avoids them all with ease.
Nechvidov looks for a takedown but Kovalenko sprawls well.
Nechvidov throws a sloppy head kick and Kovalenko moves out of range easily.
Kovalenko stuffs the takedown.
Kovalenko lands with a nice combination. Nechvidov backs away looking to recover.

Horrible takedown by Nechvidov or perhaps it was just good defense by Kovalenko which made him look bad.

Kovalenko stalks Nechvidov and leaps in with a furious combination of punches. Uppercuts and crosses smash into Nechvidov's face. Nechvidov staggers backwards, shaken.

This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

Kovalenko lands a left and a right that send Nechvidov crashing to the mat, dazed. Kovalenko thinks about following him to the mat but decides to wave him back up to his feet!

Nechvidov is breathing heavily.
Kovalenko connects with a left and a right that sees a clearly hurt Nechvidov covering up! Kovalenko comes in with a big uppercut and Nechvidov goes doooown! He's slumped up against the cage, eyes staring blankly into space.
