The judges for this bout are Aafke Stam, Radbod Blank and Daniel Blasius.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Metsonen checks the leg kick nicely there.
Metsonen uses good head movement to avoid the hook from Tomson.
A punch combination from Tomson misses.
Tomson dances in quickly and lands a nice inside leg kick on Metsonen. That did some damage!
Tomson swings and misses with a hook to the body.
Metsonen on the wrong end of a nice low kick. He's acting like it's no big deal but he doesn't want to take many more of those.
A clash of legs there as Metsonen blocks the low kick.
Nice sprawl there from Tomson as Metsonen shoots in.
Tomson lands a nice shot to the body.
Metsonen closes the distance and gets a trip takedown into side control. Tomson quickly recovers to half guard.

Tomson pulls Metsonen in close to his closed guard and prevents Metsonen from doing any damage or advancing position.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
Tomson is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.
Metsonen working some ground and pound from guard but it's not doing any damage.
Metsonen postures up in Tomson's guard and throws a big left but Tomson blocks it.

Tomson seems keen to control rather than go for a submission, at least for now.

Tomson is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move.
Metsonen is working on a guillotine. He's managed to get to full guard and he's really squeezing tight! Tomson is tapping! Great win for Metsonen!
