Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Rashawn Ross (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Kerry Ward (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Ward has chosen People are strange by The Doors as his entrance music. The atmosphere really building for this one as we go over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 6 - 5 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Rashawn Ross!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 8 - 6 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Kerry Ward!
The judges for this bout are Frank Dennis, Robert Twigg and Gwen Towbar.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
A left lands for Ross.
Ross slips under a jab.
Ward throws a series of punches but Ross moves out of range.
Ross listening to his corner there, landing a nice uppercut.
Ward shoots in and drives through. Ross sprawls well.
Kerry Ward seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

Ward throws a jab, cross combination which is slipped
and Ross counters with a nice uppercut.
Ward throws an overhand right that lands on Ross's shoulder, as Ross tries to avoid the shot.

Ward dives in and scores a takedown into Ross's guard.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
Ward is pushing down on Ross's leg trying to pass to half guard. Ross is fighting to maintain full guard but Ward has managed to sneak the leg through.
Ross is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though.

Ward decides to stand up and try his luck on the feet.
Ward has a takedown stuffed.
Ward walks straight into an uppercut. Luckily it didn't land flush.

and Ross counters with a lovely shot to the body.

Ross throws a series of strikes that have Ward backpedaling.

Ross throws a body punch but Ward moves out of range.
Ward takes one on the button.
Ross scores with a jab to the body.
Ross shuffles to his left behind two crisp jabs. Ward eats them both and turns towards Ross to reposition himself and eats a stinging right hand-left hook combo.
Ross misses with a body shot. Nice footwork from Ward.
Ross is looking to clinch.
Ross throws a right and a left that both miss.
Ross fails with an attempt to clinch.
Nice body punch from Ross.
Ward tries to clinch up against the cage, rushing in the close the distance. Ross manages to break the clinch and circles back to the middle of the mat.
Ross connects with a crisp jab.

Ward missing with a left hand there. Ross was out of range so wasted energy throwing that one.
Ross comes forward and lands a shot to the body, then darts back out of range.
Ross scores with a sloppy punch to the body. Not much technique there but it did the business.

Ward has his head snapped back a nice jab. A little nod from Ward there as he acknowledges the shot.
A shot to the liver by Ross. Beautiful body shot.
Ross fakes low and throws an overhand right that catches Ward on the side of the head.
Ross scores with a sloppy punch to the body. Not much technique there but it did the business.

A jab lands there for Ross.
Ross moves into range and connects with a jab.

Ward closes the distance and takes a jab right on the nose as he does so.
Ross fails in his attempt to clinch.
Rashawn Ross is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.
Ross bobs and weaves and throws out a fast jab that snaps Ward's head backwards.
Ward takes a jab on the nose there. A little bit of blood seems to be coming out. Hopefully that won't affect his breathing.
Ross swings and misses with a hook to the body.
Ward tries for a takedown but Ross sees it coming a mile off and avoids it easily.
Rashawn Ross has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Kerry Ward.
Ross lands a nice shot to the body.

Ward on the wrong end of a vicious looking body shot.
Ward throws a lazy uppercut
and Ross connects with a straight left hand counter down the middle.
Ross throws a combination. Ward tries to block but a couple of punches get through.
Ross scores with a nice one two combo and darts back out of range to avoid anything coming in the opposite direction.
Ward takes one to the chin there.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Ross jabs away that one connects to the head of his opponent.
Ross tries to land with a swinging hook to the body but Ward was well out of range. Poor timing from Ross.
Ross wants to clinch up but Ward keeps it at a distance.
Ross uses some good footwork to avoid the body shot by Ward.
Ross fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Ward manages to avoid it.
Ward circles away from the clinch attempt.
Ross misses with a body shot. Nice footwork from Ward.
Ward throws a hook to the side of Ross's head but Ross sees it coming and ducks under it beautifully.
Ward looks to land a right hand but Ross moved out of range.
Ross is really peppering his opponent's head with punches.
Ward uses some good footwork to avoid the body shot by Ross.

Ross scores with a jab. Ward acknowledges it with a nod of the head.
Ross wants to clinch

and Ward counters with a nice shoot takedown that brings the fighters to the ground.
Ward preventing the sweep.
Ward stays in close to Ross's body and controls the position.

Ward gets to his feet. Ross looking to butt scoot but the ref puts an end to that. On your feet son!
Ward cracks a nice hook into Ross's ribs.
Ward fails to land with the punch combination there - jab, cross, hook, miss, miss, miss.
Ward misses with a jab, cross combination.
Ross looks to score with a jab to the body but Ward is just out of range.
The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action!
Ward on the wrong end of a nice jab.
Ward's corner calls for a 1, 2 combination and Ward duly obliges.

and Ward decides to take the opportunity to score a takedown. He's landed in Ross's guard.
Ross knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Ward on the ground.

Ross is working an open guard so Ward takes the opportunity to get back to his feet.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Rashawn Ross dominated that round.
The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action!

Ward looks frustrated there after his takedown attempt is stuffed easily.
Ward ducks down and throws a hook to the body.
Ward swats away the attempt to clinch by Ross.
Ross throws a shot from downtown. Ward moves away and avoids it.
Ward has a pretty nasty looking mouse under his right eye.
Ross throws a hard body shot but it just misses.
Ross takes a body punch that cleary hurt but he's trying not to show any weakness.
Like a baseball bat into the meat of his leg there - nice leg kick by Ward.

Ward closes the distance and scores a nice trip takedown into half guard. Ross did well to prevent Ward getting side control.
Ward lands a big shot. The thud that echoes around the arena is like music to the fans' ears.

Ward maintaining the dominant position here and is working for a kimura. He's locked it up! Ross could be in real trouble here! He's trying to wriggle out but Ward has cracked it and Ross is screaming in pain - he's tapped out! Great finish by Ward!
