Ricardo comes into a darkened arena with his song building. Culo kicks in, the lights come on and the crowd goes wild! What a showman! The fight MMA fans around the world have waited their entire lives for!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
French takes a step back and watches a body kick go sailing past his mid section.
Ricardo swings for the body but French moves out of range.
Ricardo ducks low and lands a nice hook to the body of his opponent.
Ricky Ricardo seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Ricardo misses with a combination
and French counters with a quick right hand to the jaw.

Ricardo swings around for an armbar but French sees it coming a mile off and turns beautifully into Ricardo's guard.

It looks like the ref is thinking about a standup.

Ricardo isolates an arm and boxes in a triangle. French stacks Ricardo on his neck as he steps over and passes to the side. He's now in a much more dominant position where he can look to do some serious damage. Nice move by French!
Ricardo is looking to regain half guard here but French keeps moving and retains side control.
We could do with one of the fighters taking the initiative a bit more on the ground - they're both waiting to capitalize on a mistake.

The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena.

We're going to have a standup here because Clay French wasn't active enough for the referee's liking.
French tries to close the distance and clinch but Ricardo swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away.
