Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between John Meacham (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Drew Harrison (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Harrison comes into a darkened arena with his song building. Go To Sleep kicks in, the lights come on and the crowd goes wild! What a showman! John Meacham has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 4 - 0 - 0, fighting out of New York, Drew Harrison!
The judges for this bout are Joseph Jones, Jonathan Paton and Columbo Gatti.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Harrison stuffs a takedown. It's all about dictating where the fight takes place and Harrison wants it to stay on the feet.
Meacham fails in his attempt to clinch.
Harrison displays good takedown defense there as he swats away a double leg from Meacham.

Meacham scores with a nice takedown into half guard. Let's see what he's got on the ground.
Meacham tries to pass the half guard into mount. Harrison knows what he's doing though and prevents the attempt.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Meacham is holding a leg here, probably looking for an ankle lock - he drops back and goes for it! Harrison is in trouble! Is it all over??? No! Harrison has escaped and now he's on top!

Meacham working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Harrison doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Harrison manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.

Meacham looking for submissions from the bottom here. Moving his hips around, possibly looking for an armbar.
Harrison is stalling in the full guard.

Meacham escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Harrison gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.
Harrison is just sitting in guard, looking to avoid any submissions.

Meacham has an active guard here but Harrison has managed to pass into half guard.
Harrison wants to take a breather but Meacham is having none of it.
Harrison is taking a breather. Meacham says something to him but it's hard to make out. Perhaps he's telling him to get on with it and actually do something.
I looks like Harrison might be adopting somewhat of a lay and pray gameplan here, which I'm sure won't go down too well with the paying fans in attendance... Or the ring announcers come to think of it.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.

We've had a lack of effective grappling in the last minute or so, which could well see a referee standup.

Harrison is thinking about an arm triangle here, looking to tighten it up before moving to side control. Meacham can see it coming though and defends well with a couple of strikes to the head and some good arm positioning.

Meacham has guillotine here! It looks pretty tight! Could this be all over! No, Harrison escapes and passes into side control at the same time. Nice work there by Harrison!

The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.

Harrison has control of Meacham's right arm, working for a kimura. It's a bit of a token attempt though and Meacham regains control of the situation pretty easily.

Drew Harrison showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.

Meacham shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Harrison pinned against the cage. Harrison gets the underhooks and manages to circle away.
Meacham misses with a takedown attempt. He shot from a bit too far out.
Meacham looks frustrated there after his takedown attempt is stuffed easily.

Harrison is working on a single leg takedown against the cage. Meacham can't fight it off and eventually Harrison manages to take the fight to the floor. Meacham looks annoyed but at least he's managed to land in guard.

Harrison is looking to take a break and control but Meacham is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.
Meacham is looking to slip a leg under and get half guard but Harrison is one step ahead and moves to full mount!

Meacham sneaks a leg back under and regains half guard and is working straight away to try and get back to guard. He hasn't managed just yet though.

Harrison content to control the pace. The referee will try and keep them active though.

Meacham takes a couple of big shots there - the referee warns him that he has to defend himself better.
A lull in the action here as Harrison stalls from top position.
Drew Harrison is fighting for a decision here - he's started to take the cautious approach.

Drew Harrison comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
Well Harrison has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
