Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Vladimir Andreev!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Dmitriy Bashkin!
The judges for this bout are Johanna Lukiainen, Arvi Lind and Tarja Halkonen.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Bashkin keeps the fight on the outside.
Jeez, both these guys look absolutely knackered already, that's not a good sign!

Bashkin scores a trip takedown into side control. Nice.
Andreev is being controlled here.

Andreev fails with the takedown

and Bashkin decides to take the opportunity to score a takedown. He's landed in Andreev's guard.

Bashkin stands up from guard. Let's bang!

Bashkin shoots in from a long way out. He's driving through with the takedown attempt and he eventually gets it, landing in Andreev's guard.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!

Bashkin drops back looking for a leg! Andreev is in trouble here! The fighters roll with the hold and Andreev manages to kick Bashkin off! Bashkin jumps back into Andreev's guard.
Andreev is trying to keep Bashkin in close.

Bashkin is trying to work a guillotine from the top, or something like that? Don't know how he thinks he's going to get a finish from there.

Bashkin decides he's had enough of playing guard and decides to stand. Come on Andreev, up you get!
Andreev fails in his attempt to clinch.
Andreev tries for a takedown but Bashkin circles away easily

so Bashkin counters with a double leg into guard. Good agility.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Andreev wants to sweep here but Bashkin controlling him for the moment.
Andreev is trying to control the position but Bashkin postures up.
Bashkin has decided he wants to stand but the closed guard of Andreev is proving hard to escape from.
Andreev tries to land a sweep but no joy.

Bashkin gets to his feet and steps away from his opponent.
Andreev shoots in but doesn't get the takedown

and Bashkin counters with a nice double leg into guard.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Vladimir Andreev. That's going to take a lot out of him.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Bashkin distracts Andreev with his right hand and drops a big elbow with his other arm.
Andreev really is a fat lump.

Bashkin stands and steps away. Andreev gets to his feet too and we're back to the striking game.

and Bashkin counters with a takedown into full mount! That could mean trouble for Andreev!
The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily.
Bashkin avoids the attempt from Andreev to control.
The crowd growing excited in anticipation of a finish here! Right on cue, Bashkin cracks his opponent with a massive right hand that draws loud cheers!

Andreev defends a decent attempt at a guillotine from Bashkin.

Bashkin stands up from mount. Strange move.

Andreev tries to sprawl but Bashkin drives through with a takedown into half guard.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
This has been an exciting period of action!
Bashkin thows a huge punch but Andreev dodges it nicely.
Andreev throws a strike from the bottom that misses.
Bashkin wants to control but Andreev is keeping him busy.

Bashkin in half guard on the top. He's looking for a kimura... He's got it locked and he's managed to free his trapped foot. Andreev tries to escape but it's on too tight and he has to tap! Great BJJ skills there from Bashkin!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 4:35 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (Kimura). Dmitriy Bashkin!
