The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Goenji shoots in and gets a takedown into half guard. Goenji showed some decent athleticism there.

Goenji is working for a submission of some sort.
Goenji wants to control but Dela Cruz is keeping him busy.
Dela Cruz is looking for a sweep. Goenji is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position.

Goenji seems to be working for a kimura but Dela Cruz defends the submission attempt.
Dela Cruz is breathing heavily.
Goenji wants to stand up but Dela Cruz has a hold of him and won't allow it.

Goenji is trying for a guillotine from the top but the pressure isn't in the right place so Dela Cruz is just riding it out for now. Goenji eventually gives up the hold.
Goenji is looking to take a break and control but Dela Cruz is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.
