Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Marcus Jackson (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Nick Satellite (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Jackson comes to the cage accompanied by I Want to Conquer the World by Bad Religion. Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 3 - 5 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Marcus Jackson!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 2 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Nick Satellite!
The judges for this bout are Cecil Peabody, Chris Downing and George Francis.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Jackson getting the better of the striking in that exchange.
Jackson sends Satellite crashing to the mat with a devastating uppercut! Jackson is motioning to the referee to let Satellite up. He wants to try and finish this one on the feet!


Satellite is rocked!


It looks like Nick Satellite has been cut.
Satellite moves out of range as Jackson strikes.
Satellite is still on wobbly legs! Can Jackson finish him?
Satellite steps to the side to avoid the strikes from Jackson.
Jackson throws out a loose jab but Satellite uses good head movement to avoid it.
Jackson looks to score with a combo but nothing lands.
Jackson misses with an uppercut. Satellite saw that one coming.
Satellite seems to have recovered his senses.
No joy there for Jackson, who threw a few shots but didn't land.
Satellite misses with a head kick.

Satellite shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Oh and he's advanced to full mount straight away.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for leaving it all in the cage!
Jackson is really trying hard to get back to his feet.
Satellite looking to ground and pound his opponent to a finish here.
Jackson squirming around on the bottom, looking to escape.
Satellite raining down shots from the mount!
Satellite postures up and cracks his opponent a couple of times before moving back into close ground control. Jackson looks a forlorn figure.
Jackson wants to try and get back to his feet.
Jackson is breathing heavily.

Jackson is bucking up trying to escape but Satellite cracks him with another couple of good strikes.
Satellite throws an elbow from mount that misses. Lucky escape for Jackson because Satellite loaded up on that one.
Jackson trying desperately to get to his feet.
Satellite pausing momentarily but resumes with a couple of decent strikes that do a bit of damage.
Satellite lands with some vicious ground and pound - can Jackson hang on?
Satellite lands a couple of nice shots there from mount.

A nice elbow there by Satellite.
Satellite landing strikes from the mount and Jackson is in trouble!
Satellite content just to control the position here.

Jackson is trying to stand.
Satellite looking to ground and pound his opponent to a finish here.
Satellite throwing sloppy strikes, which aren't doing any damage.
Jackson is trying to escape but when you're mounted that's not too easy.
Satellite landing punches.
Jackson wants to use the cage to get back to his feet here.
Jackson tries to get back to half guard but can't.
Jackson trying desperately to get to his feet.
BOOM! Satellite connects with a massive shot to the dome!
Jackson is desperately trying to improve his position but Satellite has a good base and remains in mount.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Satellite won't let Jackson get back to his feet... He wants to keep the fight where it is for now.
Satellite punching from mount but Jackson doing a good job of avoiding damage.
Jackson tries to buck Satellite off but he can't manage it.
Satellite throws an elbow from mount that misses. Lucky escape for Jackson because Satellite loaded up on that one.
Satellite has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan.
Jackson wants to get back to his feet.
Satellite lands a big shot there that rocks Jackson but he's holding on and managing to survive for now.
Satellite looking to ground and pound but Jackson is blocking nicely.
Satellite throwing sloppy strikes here. Perhaps if he tightened up his striking from such a dominant position, he'd be able to finish easier.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Jackson avoids a series of strikes thrown by Satellite.

Satellite moves into side control, trying to work for a kimura. That looks painful! Will he finish!!?? No, Jackson has worked his arm free - good work by Jackson!
Jackson pushes Satellite away and creates a bit of space to escape. He's almost out here... but no, Satellite gets a good hold of his legs and remains firmly in side control.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace.
Jackson is looking to regain half guard here but Satellite keeps moving and retains side control.
Satellite working the ground and pound.
Jackson tries to escape but Satellite is in control.

It looks like we're going to have a standup here. Neither fight is doing enough on the ground.
Satellite wants to slow Jackson down by chopping away at his legs.
Satellite defending well as Jackson loads up on a big left hand.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.
Jackson uses good footwork to get in and out and land a nice right hand before Satellite has time to react.
Jackson bobs and weaves and unloads with a good uppercut.
Jackson cracks Satellite with a left hook right on the temple and Satellite goes down! He's out! Referee! Stop the fight! Jackson lands a few more punches before the dopey ref steps in - hopefully Satellite is OK!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 4:57 of round 1, we have a winner by way of KO (Punch). Marcus Jackson!
