Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 5 rounds, for the light heavyweight championship of the world!
Introducing the champion to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 3 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Bobby Drysdale!
And introducing the challenger to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 4 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Muay Thai Spar!
The judges for this bout are Paulsen Ambrosius, Patrick Alders and Albert Achterberg.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Drysdale on the receiving end of a decent leg kick there by Spar. Spar obviously looking to wear him down.
Drysdale looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Spar is fending him off so far but Drysdale persists. Nope, Spar circles away and we're back to standing.
Spar throws a body kick but he was well out of range there.
Spar is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two.
A decent looking body kick lands there for Spar.
Spar defends well against a solid takedown attempt from Drysdale.

Muay Thai Spar seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Drysdale is breathing heavily.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
A chopping leg kick lands by Spar.
Spar moves into range and lands a nice leg kick.
A solid leg kick lands there for Spar.
Spar misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.
Spar looks to land a body kick but Drysdale moved away.

Drysdale fails with a rather predictable takedown attempt.

Spar misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.

Spar lands a leg kick. The shin dug right into the meat of the thigh.
Drysdale takes a push kick to the midsection and stumbles backwards.
Spar fakes with a right hand and throws a good leg kick, right into the thigh. That had to hurt Drysdale.

Spar tries a head kick but it misses.
Spar throws a sloppy head kick and Drysdale moves out of range easily.
An inside leg kick lands from Spar.
This has been an exciting period of action!
Spar connects with a leg kick. Drysdale looked like he was expecting something else and didn't defend it.

Spar lands a big head kick that sends Drysdale tumbling to the mat! Spar takes a step backwards and waves Drysdale back to his feet - he wants the finish!


It looks like Bobby Drysdale has been cut.
Drysdale uses some good footwork to avoid the body shot by Spar.
Spar throws a nice outside leg kick.
A chopping leg kick lands by Spar.
Muay Thai Spar is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.
Spar throws the kick towards the body but Drysdale avoids it.
Drysdale sees a low kick coming and goes to check it, but it's actually a body kick and it thuds into his unprotected ribs.
Spar misses with a head kick.

Spar tries a head kick but it misses.

Drysdale throws the overhand right but ducks down into a quick takedown attempt. Spar was covering up waiting for the punch and Drysdale finishes the takedown easily into guard.

Drysdale drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Drysdale jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.
Drysdale wants to pass the guard but Spar is keeping the position.
Spar pulls Drysdale in close to prevent any damage.
Spar not looking particularly offensive just at the moment.
The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action!
The referee wants the fighters to be more active or he's going to reset them on the feet.
Spar wants to control but Drysdale passes easily into half guard.

Drysdale is looking for a kimura. It's going to be difficult to finish that from half guard though and Spar defends it well.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Muay Thai Spar dominated that round.

OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action.


Drysdale avoids a kick to the body.
Drysdale is hobbling a little on that front leg after taking quite a few leg kicks so far in this fight.
Drysdale shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Spar as he avoids it easily.
Spar connects with an inside leg kick.

Drysdale shoots in with a lovely double leg takedown. Spar manages to land in full guard to minimise the damage.
Drysdale stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Spar swivels though and keeps the full guard.

Spar throws his legs up looking for a submission but Drysdale uses it to pass to side control.

Drysdale is in a dominant position here, looking for a kimura. Spar looks calm but he's in trouble here. Drysdale gets his leg over his opponent's head and yanks on the arm. Spar is tapping like a morse code operator on the titanic! SOS! SOS! Drysdale lets go of the hold and Spar can pop his arm back in it's socket.

Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:05 of round 2, we have a winner by way of Submission (Kimura). Bobby Drysdale!
