The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
A jab lands there for Ernst.
Ernst tries to clinch but Kildahl moves out of range.

Kildahl stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Ernst swivels though and keeps the full guard.

The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena.

The ref stands the fighters back up, due to lack of action by Sam Kildahl.

and Kildahl counters with a nice single leg takedown and he's in Ernst's guard now.

That was a close second round but I would say that Paul Ernst will probably get the nod.

Kildahl jumps guard but Ernst stands there with Kildahl around his waist. Kildahl gives up and drops back to his feet. We remain in the clinch.

Kildahl fails with a rather predictable takedown attempt.
Paul Ernst is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.

Ernst lands a powerful looking uppercut that connected with his opponent's jaw.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.
Ernst pressing down on his opponent's thigh, looking to pass guard. Kildahl is keeping the position for now.

Kildahl had isolated an arm as going for a kimura. Ernst defends it easily.
Sam Kildahl has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here!

The fighters are trapped in the ropes so we're going to have a reposition here. The ref calls for a break and repositions the fighters in the center of the ring.
