The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Member slips a jab from Oliver.
Oliver misses with a kick to the body.
Member really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.
Member fails with a rather predictable takedown attempt.
Member throws a right and a left that Oliver avoids nicely.
Oliver misses with a body shot. Nice footwork from Member.
Sloppy strikes from Member. Those never looked like landing.
Member throws a body kick that misses.
Member fakes high and shoots in for a takedown but Oliver avoids it really well and circles away.
Member throws a head kick but Oliver moves out of range.
Oliver throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

and Oliver counters with a shoot takedown. Member fights it but they end up in guard.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Gold Member. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Member is breathing heavily.

Oliver seems to be taking a bit of a break to think of his next move. He lands a short punch in the meantime.
Oliver has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan.

Oliver is sneakily working for an arm triangle but Member sees it coming and defends easily.
Oliver is scoring with some nice ground and pound from the dominant position.

Oliver is trying to work for a kimura but Member is defending well.

Oliver wants to work for a kimura but he's foiled early by Member, who protects the arm well.

Oliver has knee on belly and moves into mount.
A nice elbow there by Oliver.
The crowd growing excited in anticipation of a finish here! Right on cue, Oliver cracks his opponent with a massive right hand that draws loud cheers!
The referee warns Member that he has to improve his position here as he takes two more clean shots to the head.

Member tries to hold on but Oliver postures up.
Oliver wants to control the pace but Member is squirming around nicely.

That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the ring so we can get back down to business.

Gold Member is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.
Member fails to land with a series of punches.

Oliver ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Member moves away.
Member shoots in but doesn't get the takedown

and Oliver counters with a nice shoot takedown that brings the fighters to the ground.

Oliver is working Member over from the guard. He should look to pass the guard and do a little more damage with these strikes.

A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace.

Oliver decides to stand up and beckons his opponent to follow.
Boom, another hit is landed. "You're gunna get knocked out" taunts Member, as that shot connected.

Oliver shoots in for a takedown! He's got it and he's managed to land in full mount! That's better than Oliver was expecting from the takedown attempt, I'm sure!

Oliver is standing up out of mount! Strange tactic there - he must really want this one on the feet!
Oliver is throwing a lot of body shots here, looking to wear down Member rather than just go for the knockout.
Member goes for a spinning back kick but it misses.

and Oliver counters with a nice double leg into side control. Member won't be happy with that.
The fighters are tangled up in the ropes here. We might need a restart if the fighters can't break free themselves.

Oliver is working to tighten is grip on Member's neck. He's isolated an arm and is working for an arm triangle. Member has recognised the danger and is trying to turn with the submission but Oliver is really squeezing tight and eventually Member passes out! Oliver breaks the hold and jumps onto the ropes to celebrate! Submission of the night, I'd say!
