Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 8 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Jerry Lawson!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 15 - 17 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Las Vegas Baby!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Lawson changes levels and drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Vegas Baby looks really pissed at himself for not defending that better.
Vegas Baby is looking to get back to his feet here but Lawson is keeping cool and he's managed to take Vegas Baby's back.

Vegas Baby defends a rear naked choke attempt by controlling one of Lawson's arms.

Lawson is throwing strikes from the back here. Oh that last one was to the back of the head. Lawson gets a warning from the referee. He throws another strike to the back of the head straight away though and the referee has seen enough. He breaks up the two fighters and stands them back up. Lawson gets a real talking to here and is lucky not to get a point deducted. Lawson apologises and we restart here on the feet.

Some bone on bone action there as Lawson checks a low kick. Luckily it wasn't a particularly hard one.
Vegas Baby goes for a spinning back kick but it misses.
Vegas Baby tries to score with an inside leg kick but telegraphs it and Lawson is able to avoid easily.

Lawson closes the distance and looks for a trip takedown... aaaand he's got it - Lawson lands in his opponent's guard.

The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.

The ref stands the fighters back up because Jerry Lawson just wasn't active enough.
Lawson throws an uppercut from half a mile away. Vegas Baby sees it coming and avoids it easily.

A momentary lapse in concentration from Vegas Baby enables Lawson to shoot in and score with a neat double leg. Vegas Baby manages to secure a closed guard as the fighters hit the mat.
Vegas Baby wants to stand and escape but Lawson is having none of it.
Hammerfist, elbow! yells Lawson's corner. There ya go! There ya go!

The referee is pacing around the two fighters - he looks like he's thinking about a standup.
Vegas Baby wants to stand back up but Lawson manages to pass into side control.

Lawson goes for an armbar! This could be all over! Wait, no, Vegas Baby rolls with the submission and now he's on top in Lawson's guard! Nice work there by Vegas Baby!

Lawson tries for an arm triangle. That looks pretty tight to me. Is this one over!?! Possibly, maybe, no Lawson has let go of the choke. Obviously it wasn't as tight as we thought!
Vegas Baby is working hard to escape and get back to his feet. After a battle for position, Lawson asserts his dominance and retains side control.

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.
Lawson is looking to take a break and control but Vegas Baby is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.
The fighters are trapped in the ropes so we're going to have a reposition here. The ref calls for a break and repositions the fighters in the center of the ring.

The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.

Vegas Baby throws a front kick aimed at Lawson's knee but Lawson avoids it well.

Lawson feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position.

Las Vegas Baby has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here!

Well Lawson has outscored his opponent in every aspect of the fight today. Only a scarily incompetent judge or two will keep him from a well deserved win... Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
