Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of
1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Dexter Koiranputki!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of
3 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Randy Couture!
The judges for this bout are Marco Blurström, Arvi Lind and Roosa Järviläinen.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Couture rushes Koiranputki and pushes him back against the cage in a clinch.
Couture throws a nice elbow but it doesn't land.
Couture has a couple of punches blocked by Koiranputki.
A short uppercut from Koiranputki.
Koiranputki jumps guard but Couture stands there with Koiranputki around his waist. Koiranputki gives up and drops back to his feet. We remain in the clinch.
Couture can't break the clinch.
Couture breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.
Couture moves away from the strike by Koiranputki.
Couture gets a takedown into half guard.
Koiranputki wants to get back to full guard.
Couture slips a nice elbow through Koiranputki's hands, connecting with Koiranputki's forehead.
The referee calls for the fighters to work.
That's one minute gone in the round.
The referee is pacing around the two fighters - he looks like he's thinking about a standup.
I looks like Couture might be adopting somewhat of a lay and pray gameplan here, which I'm sure won't go down too well with the paying fans in attendance... Or the ring announcers come to think of it.
The ref calls for a clean break and stands the fighters back up. Randy Couture wasn't active enough on the ground.
Koiranputki throws a looping overhand right but Couture ducks down to avoid it.
Koiranputki drops Couture with a beautiful combination! Couture stares up at his opponent, who ushers him back to his feet - Koiranputki is looking for the KO!
Couture is rocked!
It looks like Randy Couture has been cut.
Couture looks gassed!
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Koiranputki grits his teeth and throws a big right-left combo! Couture takes both shots clean on the chin and is out cold! Koiranputki cracks him once more on his way down, as the crowd goes wild! They enjoyed that one!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:32 of round 1, we have a winner by way of KO (Punches). Dexter Koiranputki!
