Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Richard Eagle (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Ronaldo Nazario (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 2 - 5 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Richard Eagle!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 2 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Ronaldo Nazario!
The judges for this bout are Alexandre Firmino, Emerson Jorge and Mauricio Rocha.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Eagle dives in and grabs Nazario's left leg, looking for a takedown. Nazario pushes down on Eagle's head and hops out.
Nazario swats away the attempt to clinch by Eagle.
Eagle throws a half hearted mid kick.
Eagle shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Nazario as he jumps to the side.
Eagle shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Nazario as he avoids it easily.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Richard Eagle. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Eagle tries to clinch up but Nazario circles away and keeps his distance.
Eagle lands with a slapping head kick.

Nazario closes the distance, clinches up and gets a nice trip takedown into side control. Very smooth.

Nazario tries for a kimura but Eagle is defending well.

Nazario swings around for an armbar but Eagle sees it coming a mile off and turns beautifully into Nazario's guard.
Eagle has decided he wants to stand but the closed guard of Nazario is proving hard to escape from.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Nazario has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Eagle can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Eagle wants to stand and escape but instead Nazario has hit a sweep and he's now on top in guard.

Eagle had isolated an arm as going for a kimura. Nazario defends it easily.
Nazario is intent on slowing down the pace of the fight, simply looking to control.
Eagle looking for a sweep. Not yet Eagle, not yet.

Nazario is holding a leg here, probably looking for an ankle lock - he drops back and goes for it! Eagle is in trouble! Is it all over??? No! Eagle has escaped and now he's on top!
Eagle won't allow Nazario to sweep him here.

Eagle has a momentary lapse of concentration, allowing Nazario to throw up a leg and lock on what appears to be a pretty tight triangle! Eagle is fighting it off but it's all too little too late - Nazario pulls down on the head and he's put Eagle to sleep! This one is all over!
