The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Kain lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but Masterson circles away quickly and effectively.
A punch combination from Kain misses.
Masterson shoots in for a takedown but Kain shows good takedown defense.
Kain throws a leg kick but Masterson moved away.
Masterson swings for the body but Kain moves out of range.
Kain lands three nice shots there - that looked like it hurt!
Masterson shoots in and bounces Kain off the cage to secure the takedown into guard.
Masterson looking to control the position here, rather than advance.
Kain controls Masterson momentarily but Masterson frees himself.
Kain keeping moving, preventing Masterson from controlling successfully.

Masterson thinks about going for a leg but decides against it, in order to maintain the position.
Masterson wants to control from the top but Kain keeps moving.

Masterson shoots in for a takedown from distance. He catches Kain napping and manages to drive through into side control!
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Kain is trying to maintain the position but Masterson is very close to passing his half guard.

Kain sneaks a leg back under and regains half guard and is working straight away to try and get back to guard. He hasn't managed just yet though.

Masterson is looking for submissions but instead, Kain has regained full guard.
Masterson drops back for a leg here. A bit of a high risk move... He's looking for a kneebar by the looks of things. Now both of them are looking for submissions. Masterson seems to have locked his on tight now - Kain screams in pain and taps out furiously! It certainly was a high risk move but it's paid off for Masterson, as he picks up the win!
