The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Slater is trying a forearm choke… I don't think that's going to do much at this level of the game.

Slater is looking for a kimura. It's going to be difficult to finish that from half guard though and Gab defends it well.

Gab is looking to get back to is feet but Slater passes into side control.

Slater goes for an armbar here - this could be all over! But no, Gab has escaped beautifully and is now on top in side control! Oh, that's unlucky for Slater but great work by Gab.

Slater has hold of a guillotine but he's not going to be able to crank on it really with only half guard, so it's no trouble for Gab. Oh but Slater has got full guard now! Oh boy! This one could be over very soon! Gab goes limp - he's gone! Slater jumps up and celebrates with the crowd - fantastic submission finish!
