The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Oji throws a series of strikes that have Kowalewski backpedaling.
Oji throws a right and a left that Kowalewski avoids nicely.
Kowalewski fails with the takedown.
Oji misses with a leg kick.
Kowalewski slips a jab from Oji.
Oji is looking to take this fight into the clinch.
Kowalewski throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Oji's waist but Oji gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Kowalewski off to one side.

Kowalewski escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Oji gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.
Oji wants to stand and escape but instead Kowalewski has hit a sweep and he's now on top in guard.

The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily.
Kowalewski postures up as if he's going to throw some strikes but drops back for an ankle! Oji is in big trouble! He looks ready to tap! But no, he's escaped and dives on top of Kowalewski, into his guard.
