Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Yuki De Silva!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Karl Salmon!
The judges for this bout are Eliza Hachem, Steve Erwin and Winston Howard.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
De Silva looking to land some kicks to the body here.
De Silva looks exhausted already! Oh dear, he should have come in in better shape than this!
De Silva closes the distance and clinches up with Salmon, looking for a takedown. De Silva pushes Salmon against the cage but Salmon circles to the side and manages to break the clinch.

Excellent takedown into side control there by Salmon.
We could do with one of the fighters taking the initiative a bit more on the ground - they're both waiting to capitalize on a mistake.

Salmon wants to work for a kimura but he's foiled early by De Silva, who protects the arm well.
De Silva is looking to regain half guard here but Salmon keeps moving and retains side control.

A lull in the action here.
We may be looking at a referee standup if the pace doesn't pick up soon.
Salmon's corner are shouting for him to control the position and he seems happy to oblige.

De Silva avoids a kick to the body.

Salmon shoots in and gets a takedown into De Silva's guard.

Salmon stands and steps away. De Silva gets to his feet too and we're back to the striking game.

De Silva takes a big shot to the head but keeps on trying to improve his position.
De Silva is trying to stand but he's not in a good position to be doing that! Salmon has taken his back!
Salmon connects with a series of strikes and the referee is calling for De Silva to escape the position.

Salmon is looking cool and calm here, just waiting for a good opportunity to attack and finish the fight from this dominant position.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Even with his hooks in, Salmon manages to miss with strikes from the back.
De Silva is taking damage to the body and head.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.

De Silva gets taken down but at least he's managed to land in guard.

Salmon shoots in from a long way out. He's driving through with the takedown attempt and he eventually gets it, landing in De Silva's guard.

Salmon tries to clinch but is not successful on this occasion.

Salmon jumps guard but his hands slip and he falls flat on his back. Well, he's made himself look a right mug there, as De Silva walks away with a smile on his face. Salmon gets slowly back to his feet and shakes his head.
Salmon tries to close the distance and clinch but De Silva swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away.

Salmon closes the distance and scores a nice trip takedown into half guard. De Silva did well to prevent Salmon getting side control.

Salmon looks to score some points with some ground and pound.

Salmon slows the pace down in half guard.
Let's hope that Salmon has the urge to step up the pace any second now because for the last 15 or 20 seconds he's just been holding on tight.
Salmon frees up his trapped foot and advances to mount.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.

Salmon throws a head kick but De Silva moves out of range.
Salmon looks to land a body kick but De Silva moved away.

Salmon shoots in and bounces De Silva off the cage to secure the takedown into guard.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.
Salmon is looking to work some ground and pound but De Silva has wrist control.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Karl Salmon showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action. This is the final round!

De Silva really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.

Well Salmon has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
