The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Mustang fakes with the hands and throws a leg kick but Smith Jr is out of range.
A big right from Mustang misses.
A slow jab from Smith Jr misses its intended target.
Smith Jr misses with a looping left.
Smith Jr throws a right and a left that Mustang avoids nicely.
Smith Jr keeps the fight standing with a nice sprawl.
Mustang slips a straight right by Smith Jr.
Mustang shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Smith Jr pinned against the cage. Smith Jr gets the underhooks and manages to circle away.
Smith Jr moves out of range as Mustang throws a body kick.

Mustang tries to score with a leg kick but it misses it's target.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Smith Jr throws a shot from downtown. Mustang moves away and avoids it.
Smith Jr throws the left hand but Mustang avoids the punch easily.

Andrew Smith Jr seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

Mustang moves away from the strike by Smith Jr.
Smith Jr scores with a nice strike.
Mustang defending well as Smith Jr loads up on a big left hand.
Smith Jr scores with a punch to the head.
Smith Jr throws a hook to the side of Mustang's head but Mustang sees it coming and ducks under it beautifully.
Smith Jr throws a looping overhand right but Mustang ducks down to avoid it.
Smith Jr slaps away a takedown attempt from Mustang, before circling back to the center of the mat.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Roy Mustang. That's going to take a lot out of him.

Smith Jr shoots in from a long way out. He's driving through with the takedown attempt and he eventually gets it, landing in Mustang's guard.

Mustang looking for a guillotine here but Smith Jr defends easily.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
Mustang is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move.

Smith Jr is looking to sinch up a guillotine here but Mustang pulls his head out easily.

Mustang maintaining the dominant position here and is working for a kimura. He's locked it up! Smith Jr could be in real trouble here! He's trying to wriggle out but Mustang has cracked it and Smith Jr is screaming in pain - he's tapped out! Great finish by Mustang!
