The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Durden misses with an attempted mid kick.
Durden throws a nice looking combination but McRonald bobs and weaves to avoid any damage.
Durden has a takedown stuffed.
McRonald thumps Durden with a low kick.
McRonald defends well against a solid takedown attempt from Durden.

McRonald has managed to clinch.

McRonald gets the body lock takedown. After a quick scramble, Durden regains guard.
McRonald trying to control the position from guard on top but Durden is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.

McRonald drops back looking for a leg! Durden is in trouble here! The fighters roll with the hold and Durden manages to kick McRonald off! McRonald jumps back into Durden's guard.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

McRonald is trying to work a guillotine from the top, or something like that? Don't know how he thinks he's going to get a finish from there.

McRonald pushing down on Durden's thigh, trying to pass to half guard. He's managed it... Nice work.
McRonald controlling the action here.

McRonald wants to work for an arm triangle but Durden is really keeping half guard well and defending the submission attempt.

McRonald is looking for a kimura. It's going to be difficult to finish that from half guard though and Durden defends it well.
McRonald not doing much here.

Durden is not content to let McRonald control the position.
McRonald might have to switch it up a bit here because his efforts to control Durden kaven't been going to plan, at least at the current moment in time.

McRonald is working for submissions here but there's nothing on.

McRonald seems to be looking for submissions.
Durden really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.

The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.

That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the cage so we can get back down to business.



McRonald rushes Durden and pushes him back against the cage in a clinch.
Durden tries to pull guard but McRonald won't allow it.

McRonald turns his back and goes for a hip toss. It's a bit messy but it gets the job done and McRonald manages to end up in side control.

McRonald is looking for a kimura. He might have it! No, Durden has escaped the position, nice work there.

McRonald wants to work for a kimura but he's foiled early by Durden, who protects the arm well.

McRonald tries for a kimura but Durden is defending well.
McRonald wants to control but Durden is keeping him busy.

Durden gives up the full mount - oops, sloppy defensive grappling there!

McRonald looking for a guillotine from mount but Durden is having none of it.

McRonald jumps to side control looking for an arm triangle but Durden manages to avoid the submission attempt.

McRonald tries for a kimura. Not really close to a finish though.

McRonald has worked his way into a potential kimura here. Durden is trying to get out of the position but his squirming has just got him deeper into trouble. McRonald yanks on the arm and Durden is forced to tap due to a very painful looking submission! Nice work by McRonald.
