Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Tyreke Tyson (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Dave Smith (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). There are an array of beautiful celebrities at ringside tonight! I wonder if any of them paid for their tickets.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Tyson gets taken down but at least he's managed to land in guard.

Tyson kicks Smith off and gets to his feet.
Smith throws a nice looking combination but Tyson bobs and weaves to avoid any damage.
Nice sprawl there from Tyson as Smith shoots in.

Smith shoots in and scores a nice double leg takedown into half guard.

Smith wants to stand but Tyson has a closed guard, so he can't escape.

The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up, due to lack of activity on the part of Tyreke Tyson.
Smith tries to close the distance and clinch but Tyson swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away.

Smith throws a right high kick that is partially blocked by Tyson.
No joy there for Tyson, who threw a few shots but didn't land.
Smith fakes high and shoots in for a takedown but Tyson avoids it really well and circles away.
Tyson throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Smith's waist but Smith gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Tyson off to one side.

so Smith counters with a double leg into guard. Good agility.

Tyson feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position.

Smith has had enough of the ground for now and decides to stand.
Tyson tries to close the distance and clinch but Smith swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away.

Smith shoots in for a takedown and gets it.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Tyson is not content to let Smith control the position.
Smith slips a nice elbow through Tyson's hands, connecting with Tyson's forehead.

Smith thumps the canvas. Not on purpose obviously - he just missed Tyson's head.

Smith decides he's had enough of the ground and stands up.

Smith stuffs a takedown. It's all about dictating where the fight takes place and Smith wants it to stay on the feet.
Smith lands with a kick to the temple. Tyson shrugs as if to say "is that all you've got?"

Tyson changes levels and drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Smith looks really pissed at himself for not defending that better.

The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.

Dave Smith showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.

Both fighters are breathing heavily.
Smith stalks Tyson and leaps in with a furious combination of punches. Uppercuts and crosses smash into Tyson's face. Tyson staggers backwards, shaken.

Tyson looks for a takedown. He's got it. We're now in half guard.

Tyson is looking for a kimura but Smith is holding onto that half guard position, so it's hard for Tyson to get the leverage.

The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena.
Tyson is keen to just control but Smith is a slippery customer.

Tyson wants to stand but his hand is trapped. Smith uses the opportunity to regain full guard.

The referee has ruled that neither fighter is active enough on the ground and has stood them back up.
Tyson shoots in and drives through. Smith sprawls well.

Smith closes the distance and clinches up, looking for a takedown. He shifts his weight and gets a nice trip into half guard.
The fighters are battling for position here. Tyson manages to regain full guard. Nice work.

Tyson shoots in for a takedown! He's got it and he's managed to land in full mount! That's better than Tyson was expecting from the takedown attempt, I'm sure!
Smith is squirming around, avoiding Tyson's attempts to control the action.
