The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Gonzales dives in and grabs Brookins's left leg, looking for a takedown. Brookins pushes down on Gonzales's head and hops out.
Gonzales tries a switch kick but it misses it's target.
Brookins scores with a slapping inside leg kick.
Brookins connects with a looping left hand that seems like it dazed Gonzales momentarily.
Gonzales fails with a takedown attempt.
Gonzales shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Brookins but Brookins pushes him off and we're back to square one.
Dan Brookins has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Rafael Gonzales.
Brookins swings away but doesn't land with a series of punches.

Gonzales has closed the distance and engaged Brookins in a clinch.

Gonzales sneaks a leg through and gets to half guard. That was like a knife through butter how easily he passed Brookins's guard.

Gonzales is trying for a kimura here. Brookins looks like he's in a lot of pain... and he's tapping out! Gonzales wins by kimura!
