The judges for this bout are Chris Downing, Tiny Johnson and Stewart Dunkirk.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Mitchell shoots in for a double leg but Leonidas sprawls well. That's going to sap some energy.
Mitchell shoots in and drives through. Leonidas sprawls well.
Mitchell drives through and clinches with Leonidas against the cage.
Leonidas tries to break the clinch but Mitchell is controlling the position.
Mitchell tries to jump guard but he falls flat on his backside. Leonidas smiles and moves away.

Leonidas is in a horrible position here, under a barrage of strikes, he's managing to avoid any damage.

Leonidas is trying to stand up.
Mitchell is landing with some decent strikes but Leonidas is trying to advance his position so the referee is letting the fight continue.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Leonidas tries to buck Mitchell off but he can't manage it.
Leonidas wants to control but Mitchell is having none of it.
Leonidas is trying to escape but when you're mounted that's not too easy.
Mitchell seems to be looking to move to his opponent's back but Leonidas is holding on tight.
Mitchell has control of Leonidas's right arm, working for a kimura. It's a bit of a token attempt though and Leonidas regains control of the situation pretty easily.
Mitchell punching from mount but Leonidas doing a good job of avoiding damage.
Leonidas squirming around on the bottom, looking to escape.
Mitchell scores with a couple of good head shots there.
Leonidas is looking to improve his position but Mitchell isn't that keen on the idea.
Leonidas wants to hold on but Mitchell pushes him away.

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.
Mitchell lands a couple of nice shots there from mount.
Mitchell has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.
Leonidas defends a decent attempt at a guillotine from Mitchell.

Mitchell decides to change it up a bit and drives through with a nice takedown into half guard.

Mitchell is thinking about going for an arm triangle but he can't free his leg.
Leonidas really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Mitchell. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.
Leonidas is in trouble now - Mitchell has advanced to mount!
Leonidas bucks up and manages to get a nice reversal! He's in guard on the top - nicely done!
Leonidas wants to stand but Mitchell has a closed guard, so he can't escape.
Leonidas gets to his feet - Mitchell follows without any prompting.
Leonidas throws a body punch but Mitchell moves out of range.
Nice uppercut there from Leonidas.
Leonidas lands a jab-cross combination.
Leonidas fakes a head shot and lands one to the body.
Mitchell avoids the head kick by Leonidas.

Mitchell gets cracked with a nice right hand there by Leonidas.
Mitchell is rocked!
Mitchell seems to be squinting his left eye. Perhaps he got a poke in that previous exchange. Leonidas shows no mercy and swarms him with a barage of strikes! Mitchell is backing up but Leonidas catches him with a final right hook that drops him! Mitchell covers up and the referee steps in to end the fight! Leonidas Jumps to his feet and flashes his guns to the crowd. Oh yeah, baby! How'd you like them apples?!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 4:12 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). King Leonidas!
King Leonidas is the new welterweight champion!
