The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Gilden tries to score a power double leg takedown but Bulit sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Gilden somewhat.
Bulit fakes a head shot and lands one to the body.

Bulit leaves Gilden with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt.
Gilden shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Bulit as he jumps to the side.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Matt Gilden. That's going to take a lot out of him.
A nice inside leg kick there by Bulit. That's going to slow Gilden down.

Bulit throws a loose over hand right and dives in with a double leg takedown. Gilden tries to sprawl but it's too late and the fighters hit the mat. Bulit is in Gilden's guard.

Gilden has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Bulit can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.
Bulit must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu.

Bulit really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Gilden. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.

Gilden throws his legs up looking to secure a triangle. Oh, that looks pretty tight, I gotta say! Bulit escapes and throws Gilden's legs to the side, diving into side control!

Gilden has hold of a guillotine but he's not going to be able to crank on it really with only half guard, so it's no trouble for Bulit. Oh but Gilden has got full guard now! Oh boy! This one could be over very soon! Bulit goes limp - he's gone! Gilden jumps up and celebrates with the crowd - fantastic submission finish!
