The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Sullivan throws out a loose jab but Ulyanov uses good head movement to avoid it.
Sullivan throws a hook but Ulyanov blocks it.
Sullivan throws a nice looking combination but Ulyanov bobs and weaves to avoid any damage.
Sammy Sullivan seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Sullivan scores with a punch to the head.

It looks like Vladimir Ulyanov has been cut.
Sullivan shoots for a takedown but Ulyanov saw that one coming a mile off and avoided it easily.
Ulyanov slips a jab and a cross from Sullivan.
Ulyanov changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Sullivan tries to avoid it but Ulyanov manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Sullivan to the ground. Sullivan escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.

Ulyanov looks frustrated there after his takedown attempt is stuffed easily.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Ulyanov is refusing to be controlled, as Sullivan sits in half guard.
Sullivan has freed up his trapped foot and advances to mount.
Ulyanov should think about turning a few of those tyres round his middle into muscle if he wants people to take him seriously as an athlete.

Sullivan takes a little breather and maintains the position. The referee will be looking for him to stay active from such a dominant position though.
