Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 3 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Anthony Pettis!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 5 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Miroslav Krivanec!
The judges for this bout are Daniel Blasius, Paulsen Ambrosius and Albert Achterberg.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Pettis throws the overhand right but ducks down into a quick takedown attempt. Krivanec was covering up waiting for the punch and Pettis finishes the takedown easily into guard.
Pettis wants to control from the top but Krivanec keeps moving.

Pettis thinks about going for a leg but decides against it, in order to maintain the position.
Krivanec wants to sweep here but Pettis controlling him for the moment.

Pettis drops back for a leg but he's not going to get it - he lets go and Krivanec dives on top into guard.
Both fighters really going for it on the ground here!
Krivanec is sitting in guard, working some ground and pound.
Krivanec connects with a couple of short punches.
Krivanec won't allow Pettis to sweep him here.
Krivanec content to strike from guard, landing some decent shots.
Krivanec is fighting to break Pettis's control of his arms but Pettis is doing a good job of controlling the position at the moment.

Pettis utilising some decent striking defenses from the guard, preventing the ground and pound.

Krivanec has decided he wants to stand but the closed guard of Pettis is proving hard to escape from.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Krivanec slips effortlessly into side control - very nice.
Pettis manages to get one leg in to regain half guard.
Krivanec thows a wild elbow that connects with the canvas.
Pettis is working for an escape here. He's hooked one of Krivanec's legs and he's managed to sneak out and take Krivanec's back!
Krivanec breaks Pettis's hooks off and manages to turn into his guard.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Krivanec scoring with some ground and pound.

Krivanec lands a nice shot whilst sitting in his opponent's guard.

Krivanec tries to free his leg and advance position but Pettis is retaining full guard.
Krivanec wants to stand but Pettis has a closed guard, so he can't escape.
Pettis looking to hit a scissor sweep but Krivanec is one step ahead there.
Krivanec cracks Pettis with a solid left hand.

Pettis is working actively off his back, looking to secure an arm or perhaps work for a triangle.
Krivanec really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Pettis. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.
Krivanec lands a couple of digs.

Krivanec drops back looking for a leg! Pettis is in trouble here! The fighters roll with the hold and Pettis manages to kick Krivanec off! Krivanec jumps back into Pettis's guard.
Pettis has his hands on Krivanec's head, controlling the position.

Krivanec is trying to work a guillotine from the top, or something like that? Don't know how he thinks he's going to get a finish from there.

Pettis looking for submissions from the bottom but instead Krivanec passes into side control.

Krivanec is trying to get an arm triangle but Pettis is defending well.

A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace.
Pettis gets one leg under and gets the fight to half guard.
Krivanec is looking to take a break and control but Pettis is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.
Krivanec is thwarting Pettis's attempts to control the position.

Krivanec looking for a kimura but he'll have to free his other leg if he wants to finish that. Perhaps he's just using it as a distraction technique.
Pettis wants to control but Krivanec is keeping busy.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

A close round but Miroslav Krivanec will probably get the nod.
The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business.


Pettis throws a series of strikes that have Krivanec backpedaling.

Krivanec tries to sprawl but Pettis drives through with a takedown into half guard.

Krivanec looking for submissions from an awkward position here.
Pettis keeping composed on the top, looking to control the action.

Pettis is working for a submission of some sort.
Krivanec is staying active underneath Pettis, who seems content to just control the action from this position.
Pettis moves nicely into side control.
Krivanec bucks up and tries to throw Pettis off but instead Pettis has got his back!

Pettis is working on the RNC. He looks like he's got it but Krivanec won't tap... Oh, he's out! The ref rips Pettis off his unconscious opponent!
