Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Jay Z (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Steve Limmen (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Z comes to the cage accompanied by New York. Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 6 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Jay Z!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 5 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Steve Limmen!
The judges for this bout are Saam Ante, Paul Aken and Wagner Zegers.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Some wild striking there from Limmen.
Z fails with a takedown attempt from distance.
Limmen lunges in with an uppercut that skims his opponent's chin.


It looks like Jay Z has been cut.
Limmen looks to score with a combo but nothing lands.
Limmen with a jab.

Z fakes an overhand right and shoots for a takedown. Limmen sprawls well initially but Z persists and gets the takedown into half guard.
Z missing with some ground and pound from the half guard.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Limmen tries to roll over but Z keeps him under control.

Z seems to be looking for submissions.
Limmen keeping his head moving to avoid the ground and pound.
Z has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.

Z is looking for a kimura. It's going to be difficult to finish that from half guard though and Limmen defends it well.
Z is looking to pass Limmen's guard but actually Limmen recovers to full guard.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Limmen working the defensive guard well to avoid strikes from Z.
Limmen controls Z momentarily but Z frees himself.
Z thows a big elbow that misses.
Z looking to pass the guard.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace.

Z decides he's had enough of playing guard and decides to stand. Come on Limmen, up you get!

Z fakes an overhand right and shoots for a takedown. Limmen sprawls well initially but Z persists and gets the takedown into half guard.
Z wants to pass the guard but Limmen is defending well.
Limmen avoiding damage under a succession of punches from Z.
Z thumps the canvas. Not on purpose obviously - he just missed Limmen's head.
Z trying to mount his opponent but Limmen defends it.
Z throwing shots but they're hitting the canvas more than the man.
Z thows a huge punch but Limmen dodges it nicely.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Z not throwing his punches with enough precision this time.
Z passes to side control.

Z tries for a kimura. Not really close to a finish though.
Z trying to control the action but Limmen is working from the bottom.

Z is looking to finish here, going for an Americana. Limmen knows the correct defense though, so he's OK.

That's four minutes gone in the round.

Z working hard here to secure a kimura but he's not really in the right position for it.
Z working the ground and pound but he's contacting the mat, not the fighter.

Z looking for an arm triangle but it's way too loose to do anything.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Jay Z dominated that round.
The cut man is working on Jay Z's cut.
Well, the break between rounds is over. Let's get back to the scrappin!


Limmen throws a series of punches but Z moves out of range.
Z on the wrong end of an overhand right that came out of nowhere.
Z shoots in for a takedown but Limmen shows good takedown defense there and keeps this one on the feet.

Z closes the distance and scores a nice trip takedown into half guard. Limmen did well to prevent Z getting side control.

Z is looking for a kimura but he's never going to get it from there.
Z trying to mount his opponent but Limmen defends it.

Z seems to be looking for submissions.
Z has freed up his trapped foot and advances to mount.

That's one minute gone in the round.

Z working for a submission but Limmen is keeping him at bay.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Z thowing strikes but they're hitting the gloves, not doing any damage.
Limmen wriggling around on the bottom manages to avoid the strikes thrown by Z.

Z landing strikes from the mount.

That's two minutes gone in the round.

Limmen has left one of his arms exposed and Z doesn't need a second invitation. He's isolated it and locked on a tight armbar. Limmen screams and taps out, obviously in a lot of pain. Hopefully there isn't permanent damage to that arm.
