Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the bantamweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of
6 - 4 - 0, fighting out of New York, Jimmie Jameson!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of
0 - 0 - 1, fighting out of New York, Mardo Samora!
The judges for this bout are David Schapiro, Russell Pearce and Columbo Gatti.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Jameson misses with a looping right.
Jameson pushing out the jab but it's not landing.
Samora shoots for a double leg takedown but Jameson sprawls well. He's pushed Samora's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily.
Jameson throws a hook but Samora avoids it easily.
Jameson throws a nice looking combination but Samora bobs and weaves to avoid any damage.
Samora attempts a leg kick but it's missed by a good margin.
Jameson paws at his opponent with the jab and then lunges in with a straight, right on the button.
Samora shoots in looking for a takedown but Jameson manages to keep the fight standing, pushing Samora's face into the canvas for good measure before circling away.
Jameson scores with a nice looking left hook and follows it up with an uppercut!
Samora tries a switch kick but it misses it's target.
Samora displays some good footwork, moving neatly out of range as Jameson throws out the jab.
Jameson blocks a head kick by Samora.
A slow jab from Jameson misses its intended target.
Jameson throws a looping overhand right but Samora ducks down to avoid it.
Jameson will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.

Jameson moves into range and throws a lovely three punch combination.
Samora gets his head snapped back by a nice shot there.
Jameson swings for the body but Samora moves out of range.

Jimmie Jameson is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.
Jameson throws a right hand that Samora ducks under and follows up with a left that Samora also avoids with ease.
Samora shoots in but Jameson avoids the takedown attempt easily.
A swing and a miss from Jameson.
Jameson fakes a jab and then connects with a hook.
Samora walks into a left hand.
Samora tries to clinch but Jameson moves out of range.

Samora tries to close the distance and clinch but Jameson swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away.

Samora fails with a rather predictable takedown attempt.
Jameson throws out a loose jab but Samora uses good head movement to avoid it.

Samora is rocked!
Jameson connects with a good straight punch right through the guard and follows up with a right hook and a left hook! That last one sent Samora tumbling to the canvas! Jameson pours on the pressure with more strikes and the referee has no hesitation diving in to stop the fight! Samora was done - good stoppage!
