PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Roy Farris (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Rogerio Cafu (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Farris comes to the cage accompanied by Im cool Im bad. Cafu has chosen No way out as his entrance music. These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Farris throws a leg kick but Cafu sees it coming and moves out of range.
Cafu closes the distance and takes a jab right on the nose as he does so.
Farris misses with a straight left.
Cafu swats away the attempt to clinch by Farris.
A punch lands to the side of Cafu 's head but he takes it in his stride.

Cafu shoots in looking for a takedown. Farris tries to sprawl out of it but Cafu keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Farris manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.

We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Cafu has hold of Farris's left arm, perhaps looking for a submission. The two fighters tussle over control of the isolated limb and Farris manages to get his arm back to his side and away from danger.

Cafu goes for an armbar but he's not got it… Farris turns into him and now he's in Cafu's guard.

Cafu drops back looking for a leg! Farris is in trouble here! The fighters roll with the hold and Farris manages to kick Cafu off! Cafu jumps back into Farris's guard.

Cafu drops back looking for a heel hook - he quickly realises he's not going to get it but Farris manages to dive on top of him before he can escape and now Cafu has Farris in his guard.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace.

Boom, another hit is landed. "You're gunna get knocked out" taunts Farris, as that shot connected.

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.

Cafu is looking to take a break and control but Farris is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.

The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.

Cafu is in a dominant position here, looking for a kimura. Farris looks calm but he's in trouble here. Cafu gets his leg over his opponent's head and yanks on the arm. Farris is tapping like a morse code operator on the titanic! SOS! SOS! Cafu lets go of the hold and Farris can pop his arm back in it's socket.
