Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Otto Maddox (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Logan Nail (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Maddox's entrance music is Institutionalized - Suicidal Tendencies. A fine choice. Nail is bobbing his head along to his entrance song: Ain't No Sunshine. Logan Nail will no doubt be trying to keep this one on the feet, where he has a distinct advantage.

The judges for this bout are Chris Downing, Frank Dennis and Robert Twigg.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Maddox ducks under a wild hook from Nail.
Maddox blocks a jab.
Maddox moves into range and throws a combination. A nice jab followed by a hook to the body.

It looks like Logan Nail has been cut.
A big left from Nail misses.
Nail missing with a left hand there. Maddox was out of range so wasted energy throwing that one.
Nail keeps the fight on the outside.
Maddox ducks under a wild hook from Nail.
Nail connects with a right hand. Maddox shakes it off.
Nail throws a nice looking combination but Maddox bobs and weaves to avoid any damage.
Nail lands a leg kick that knocks Maddox off balance momentarily.
Nail throws a hook but Maddox avoids it easily.
Nail looks to clinch

and Maddox counters with a single leg into guard. Nail didn't expect that.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Nail utilising some decent striking defenses from the guard, preventing the ground and pound.
Maddox stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Nail swivels though and keeps the full guard.
A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Maddox accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand.

Nail looking to hit a scissor sweep but Maddox is one step ahead there.
Nail avoiding any damage from the ground and pound.

Maddox drops back looking for a heel hook - he quickly realises he's not going to get it but Nail manages to dive on top of him before he can escape and now Maddox has Nail in his guard.

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.

Maddox keeping control of the leg, stopping his opponent passing to mount.
Maddox has a hand on Nail's thigh, trying to get back to full guard. Nail takes advantage of the position though and mounts him!

The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena.
Nail wants to control the pace but Maddox is squirming around nicely.
Maddox is trying to escape the mount.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business.

Nail misses with an uppercut.
Nail lunges at Maddox with a hook that half lands and is half blocked by Maddox's hand.
Maddox lands an overhand left. A wild punch that just about connected.
Maddox takes one to the side of the head.
Nail ducks under a wild hook from Maddox.
Nail pushing out the jab but it's not landing.
Logan Nail seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

Maddox gets the takedown into side control.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Nail stops Maddox from passing to mount.
Maddox throws a knee to the body but it doesn't do much damage.
Nail is trying to control Maddox's posture but Maddox avoids it.
Maddox looking to punish the body of his opponent here but Nail is avoiding damage well.

Maddox throwing ground and pound but whilst doing so, he forgets to control position and Nail works his way back to half guard. Good composure under pressure.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Nail is trying to stand up here but Maddox is controlling him well.

Nail regains full guard, whilst avoiding punches from Maddox.
Maddox is looking to work some ground and pound but Nail has wrist control.
Maddox throws and elbow that misses. Nail uses the momentum to reverse the position. He's now in Maddox's guard. Nice move by Nail!

Maddox is working for an escape here. He's hooked one of Nail's legs and he's managed to sneak out and take Nail's back!
Nail finds himself mounted whilst avoiding strikes.
Maddox throws an elbow from mount that misses. Lucky escape for Nail because Maddox loaded up on that one.

Maddox moves into side control, trying to work for a kimura. That looks painful! Will he finish!!?? No, Nail has worked his arm free - good work by Nail!

Maddox blocks a leg kick.

Maddox forces Nail back against the cage and clinches.
Maddox swings wildly with an uppercut but Nail uses good head movement to avoid it.
Nail is trying to maintain a safe position but Maddox gets an underhook and turns Nail into the cage.
Nail is struggling to control the position.
Nail lands a left hand that snaps the head of Maddox backwards.

Maddox has double underhooks and is working for a body lock takedown. He's got it. The fighters land in half guard but Nail regains guard immediately.
Maddox stands up over Nail, holding his feet. He dives back in and lands a decent shot to the head.
Maddox wants to control from the top but Nail keeps moving.
Maddox throwing elbows and punches but not connecting, as Nail works some decent striking defense from the bottom.

Nail scrambles and gets back to his feet.
Logan Nail is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.

Nail throws a nice outside leg kick.
Maddox shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Nail but Nail pushes him off and we're back to square one.
Maddox tries to clinch up but Nail circles away and keeps his distance.

Nail throws an overhand right that lands on Maddox's shoulder, as Maddox tries to avoid the shot.
Nail's corner calls for a 1-2. Nail obliges with the 1 part as he scores the single shot and moves back out of range.

Maddox takes a jab on the nose. He smiles like he loves it and keeps coming.

Nail throws a combination. Maddox tries to block but a couple of punches get through.

The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!

Nail connects with a leg kick. He turned his hip over nicely there.
Logan Nail seems to be getting the better of the standup.
Nail lands with a hook. Maddox tried to avoid it but it clipped the top of his head.
Nice uppercut lands for Nail. That snapped Maddox's head back.

Nail thuds his right hand into Maddox's forehead from close range. That could be painful for both fighters.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.

Nail throws a looping overhand right but Maddox ducks down to avoid it.

Nail swings away but doesn't land with a series of punches.

As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.

Nail loads up on a big right hand but Maddox slips the punch.
Logan Nail has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here!
