The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Chubbs has his head slapped from side to side by a 3 punch combination. That must have hurt him.

It looks like Jake Chubbs has been cut.
Chubbs blocks the body kick.

Chubbs closes the distance, clinches up and gets a nice trip takedown into side control. Very smooth.
pau is trying to improve his position.
pau is not in a great position here, taking some shots.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
pau pushes Chubbs away and creates a bit of space to escape. He's almost out here... but no, Chubbs gets a good hold of his legs and remains firmly in side control.

Chubbs is trying to land an Americana. He has the arm isolated but pau is keeping cool and he's avoided the danger for now.
pau wants to get back to his feet but Chubbs drags him back down.
You can see the frustration on pau's face, being in this tough position on the bottom.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Chubbs grinds an elbow into pau's temple.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Chubbs tries to cartwheel into mount but he doesn't manage it.
pau wants to control but Chubbs postures up.
Chubbs working the head and body with strikes.
Chubbs works to advance to full mount. pau defends for a few seconds but eventually he succumbs.
pau tries to get back to half guard but can't.
Chubbs in mount throwing good strikes here, bouncing his opponent's head off the canvas.
Chubbs is still in mount, landing shots to his trapped opponent. pau can't stay in a position like this for much longer.

It looks like paula pau has been cut.
pau looks gassed!
