The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Miroshnichenko shoots in looking for a single leg takedown. Prunea is trying to defend but Miroshnichenko finishes it well and ends up in half guard. Let's see if he can advance position further.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Prunea wants to get back to his feet.
Prunea is refusing to be controlled, as Miroshnichenko sits in half guard.

Miroshnichenko is working for a kimura but Prunea is defending it quite comfortably.
Prunea regains full guard. Nicely done.
Prunea is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.

Miroshnichenko stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Prunea swivels though and keeps the full guard.
