PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a bantamweight MMA rules bout between Chris Silvers (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Frank Castle (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Silvers comes to the cage accompanied by Con te Partiro. Frank Castle told me before the fight that he's been watching a lot of DVDs so let's see if that helps him in this one! I can't wait to find out!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the bantamweight division.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 9 - 6 - 0, fighting out of London, Frank Castle!
The judges for this bout are James Atkins, William Gold and Paul Tew.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Castle scores with a takedown into Silvers's guard.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Castle postures up to throw the ground and pound strikes but they don't connect.

Silvers is looking for a guillotine. You can't force these things though and Castle defends well.
Castle is working Silvers over from the guard. He should look to pass the guard and do a little more damage with these strikes.

Silvers working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Castle doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Castle manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.

Silvers is looking to sinch up a guillotine here but Castle pulls his head out easily.
Castle lands a big shot. The thud that echoes around the arena is like music to the fans' ears.
The two fighters exchange a few words. I couldn't hear what they were saying but maybe it's more fun if you make it up yourself. Castle connects with a nice short shot to Silvers's temple.

Castle landing with strikes to the body and head, softening up his opponent.

Silvers slips a foot under and gets full guard. Nice work.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

You can see the frustration on Silvers's face, being in this tough position on the bottom.
Castle cracks Silvers with a big right hand but Silvers just smiles back at him and invites him to have another go.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.

And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Frank Castle dominated that round.
That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the cage so we can get back down to business.

Silvers maintaining the dominant position here and is working for a kimura. He's locked it up! Castle could be in real trouble here! He's trying to wriggle out but Silvers has cracked it and Castle is screaming in pain - he's tapped out! Great finish by Silvers!
