And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 9 - 6 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Marcus Halberstram!
The judges for this bout are Paulo Santos, Alexandre Firmino and Felipe Paraventi.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Halberstram displays some good footwork, moving neatly out of range as Phillips throws out the jab.
Phillips missing with a left hand there. Halberstram was out of range so wasted energy throwing that one.
Ian Phillips seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Halberstram lands with a good body shot.
Phillips uses good head movement to avoid the hook from Halberstram.
Halberstram misses with a two punch combination.
Halberstram takes a big uppercut there. He seems a bit wobbly but no, he's OK.

Phillips is looking for a takedown here. He's shot in and has managed to get it, finishing up in Halberstram's half guard.
Phillips wants to take a breather but Halberstram is having none of it.
Halberstram is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though.

Phillips throws a strike but Halberstram rolls with it and manages to sweep. Now he's in guard on top.
Halberstram slips effortlessly into side control - very nice.
Phillips is looking to regain half guard here but Halberstram keeps moving and retains side control.
Phillips tries to strike from the bottom but misses.
Halberstram is looking to take a break and control but Phillips is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.

The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action.
Phillips is not content to let Halberstram control the position.

The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult.
Phillips tries to buck Halberstram off but Halberstram is having none of it.
Phillips is working hard here to advance position.

Halberstram is working for what looks like an arm triangle here. Phillips is trying to escape and Halberstram transitions quickly into an armbar! He's slapped it on tight and Phillips is forced to tap! Nice work there by Halberstram! Very nice indeed!
