Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Ian Phillips (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Bro Ham (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 9 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Ian Phillips!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 16 - 6 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Bro Ham!
The judges for this bout are Seu Braga, Alexandre Firmino and Luis Engracia.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Ham looks to score with a jab to the body but Phillips is just out of range.
Ham misses with a hook. Phillips ducked under it nicely.
Phillips jabs away that one connects to the head of his opponent.
Ham lands a vicious shot with the stealth of a sniper and the strength of a viper. Are vipers that strong? I can think of lots of things that are stronger than a viper - not many rhyme with sniper though.
Ham swings for the body but Phillips moves out of range.
Ham throws a wild body kick that Phillips sees coming a mile off.
Ham missing with a left hand there. Phillips was out of range so wasted energy throwing that one.
Phillips misses with an attempted mid kick.
Ham ducks under a wild hook from Phillips.
Ham throws a combination but it was largely blocked by Phillips.

Ham fakes a couple of low kicks, before throwing one on the third attempt. It connects and Phillips has to reset his feet before getting ready to engage.

Phillips changes levels and drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Ham looks really pissed at himself for not defending that better.

The fighters are tangled up in the ropes here. We might need a restart if the fighters can't break free themselves.
Phillips creates some space and throws a big elbow, but Ham sees it coming and moves his head just enough to avoid the strike.

That was a close round but I would say that Ian Phillips will probably get the nod.

Phillips closes the distance and gets a double leg, slamming Ham to the mat! Ham manages to get full guard.
Ham controls Phillips momentarily but Phillips frees himself.
Phillips throws and elbow that misses. Ham uses the momentum to reverse the position. He's now in Phillips's guard. Nice move by Ham!

Phillips escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Ham gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.

Phillips has his foot on Ham's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Ham works his way back into a safe position though.

The minute break is over - no more time for sponges and pep talks - back to the action! The crowd applaud as we get ready to start the final round!
