Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Ervin Castillo (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Tuomas Keto (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Tuomas Keto is the more experienced fighter, so let's see if that makes a difference tonight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 21 - 8 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Ervin Castillo!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 15 - 6 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Tuomas Keto!
The judges for this bout are Robert Douchet, William Peck and Yves DeLean.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Keto throws a hook to the body but it doesn't connect.
Castillo throws a nice outside leg kick.
Keto walks into a straight right hand from Castillo.
Keto ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Castillo moves away.
Horrible takedown by Keto or perhaps it was just good defense by Castillo which made him look bad.
Castillo scores with a hook.
Keto swats away the attempt to clinch by Castillo.
Castillo throws a combination. Keto tries to block but a couple of punches get through.


It looks like Tuomas Keto has been cut.
Keto closes the distance and takes a jab right on the nose as he does so.
Castillo fakes with a right hand and throws a good leg kick, right into the thigh. That had to hurt Keto.
Keto steps to the side to avoid the strikes from Castillo.
Keto slips a straight right by Castillo.

Castillo checks a low kick from Keto.
Castillo is looking to clinch.
Castillo ducks right into an uppercut from Keto.
Keto falls off balance throwing a combination
and Castillo counters with a lovely straight right hand!
Keto misses with a looping right.
Castillo connects with a lovely jab that went straight through the gap between Keto's hands.
Castillo tries to close the distance and clinch up but Keto swats him away and circles back towards the center.
Castillo misses with a two punch combination.
Keto shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Castillo as he avoids it easily.
Keto fails miserably with a takedown attempt.
Ervin Castillo has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Tuomas Keto.
Good standup being displayed there by Keto as he connects with a hook.

Castillo clinches.

Keto escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.

Keto shoots in and gets a takedown into half guard. Keto showed some decent athleticism there.

Keto is looking for a kimura but Castillo is holding onto that half guard position, so it's hard for Keto to get the leverage.

Keto thumps the canvas. Not on purpose obviously - he just missed Castillo's head.
Keto has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan.

Keto wants to control but Castillo is keeping him busy.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.

That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action.


Keto closes this distance looking for a takedown but Castillo circles away.
Castillo fails with an attempt to clinch.

Castillo uses some good footwork to avoid the body shot by Keto.
Castillo throws a left and a right that both miss

and Keto counters with a single leg into guard. Castillo didn't expect that.

Keto passes Castillo's left leg - he's now in half guard.
The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult.

Keto wants to take a breather but Castillo is having none of it.
Keto not landing any meaningful shots this time.
Castillo is not content to let Keto control the position.

Keto is trying a forearm choke… I don't think that's going to do much at this level of the game.

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.
Keto wants to advance to full mount but Castillo doesn't think that's going to happen and regains full guard instead.
Keto working some ground and pound from guard but it's not doing any damage.

Castillo is trying to control the position but Keto postures up.
Keto loading up with the ground and pound but he's missing more than he's landing in this flurry.

Keto has gone for a leg lock! Castillo slips out almost immediately though and dives into Keto's guard.
Castillo has to be careful here, sitting in the guard of a superior BJJ player.

The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena.

Castillo gets to his feet. Keto looking to butt scoot but the ref puts an end to that. On your feet son!
Keto throws a monster uppercut resembling something out of street fighter but it doesn't land.
Castillo throws an uppercut from half a mile away. Keto sees it coming and avoids it easily.
Castillo thows a left - swing and a miss!
Ervin Castillo seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Keto wants to slow Castillo down by chopping away at his legs.
Keto dips down and scores with a jab to the body.
Keto stooping low to avoid any incoming strikes and then lunges in with an uppercut come cross that lands flush.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Tuomas Keto showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.

The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action. This is the final round!


Keto stumbles momentarily as he takes a strong leg kick from Castillo.
Ervin Castillo is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.
A swing and a miss from Keto.
Castillo swings away but doesn't land with a series of punches.
Keto shoots in and drives through. Castillo sprawls well.
Keto misses with a wild body shot.
Keto does a little shimmy and throws a leg kick. The leg kick missed by a considerable margin though, making him look a little bit silly for doing the shimmy.
A solid leg kick lands there for Castillo.
Keto lands the left hand.
Castillo connects with a solid leg kick.
Castillo scores with a punch to the head.

Castillo drives through and clinches with Keto against the cage.
Castillo misses with a shot to the kidneys.

Keto blocking some punches.
Castillo lands a right hand.
Keto prevents a body shot from Castillo.
Keto tries to take the fight to the ground by pulling guard but can't manage it.
Castillo can't find room to land a body shot as Keto controls the action.

Keto breaks from the clinch.
A left lands for Castillo.
Castillo throws a good cross that connects.
Castillo bobs and weaves well there to avoid the strikes.
Castillo scores with a sloppy punch to the body. Not much technique there but it did the business.
Keto thuds a left hand into Castillo's body.
Keto will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts.

Keto throws a solid leg kick but Castillo takes the impact on his shin and smiles at Keto.
A looping hook to the body misses from Keto. Castillo does a little dance to reset his feet.

Castillo closes the distance and pushes Keto back into the cage.
Castillo tries to work over Keto's body with a swooping hook but it only glances the target.
Castillo swings wildly with an uppercut but Keto uses good head movement to avoid it.
Castillo tries to throw a body punch but Keto avoids it by throwing Castillo back against the cage.
Castillo lands a shoulder strike.
Keto lands a body punch in the clinch.

Castillo can't find room to land a body shot as Keto controls the action.

Keto pulls Castillo into guard.

There's a bit of a scramble here and now Keto is on top in guard.
Keto trying to control but Castillo is working from the bottom.

And that's the end of the fight!
Ervin Castillo showed his dominance in that final round.
I think Castillo has won this one but let's see what the judges have to say. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
