Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Jesper Rush (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Kurt Liddell (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Rush comes to the cage accompanied by Tom Sawyer - Rush. Liddell has chosen Just Another Victim by Helmet & House of Pain as his entrance music. Jesper Rush has the edge in experience - let's see if he can make that count tonight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 21 - 10 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Jesper Rush!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 14 - 7 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Kurt Liddell!
The judges for this bout are Trevor Gratis, Steve Smith and Ian Loll.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Liddell waving his hands out in front of him, looking to distract Rush.
Liddell fails with a rather predictable takedown attempt.
Rush tries to score a power double leg takedown but Liddell sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Rush somewhat.
Rush fakes with a right hand and throws a good leg kick, right into the thigh. That had to hurt Liddell.
A solid leg kick lands there for Rush.
Rush takes a big uppercut there. He seems a bit wobbly but no, he's OK.
Liddell wants to clinch.
Liddell bobs and weaves well there to avoid the strikes.

Rush throws a feint and then finishes with a kick to the body.

Rush lands with a good tight uppercut to the head.
Liddell has a body lock and is looking for a takedown. Rush is bouncing around trying to prevent the takedown and somehow he has indeed managed to stay on his feet.

The two fighters exchange a few words. I couldn't hear what they were saying but maybe it's more fun if you make it up yourself. Rush connects with a nice short shot to Liddell's temple.

Rush cracks Liddell with a nasty head shot there - the crowd let out an audible gasp there, as the noise reverberated around the arena.

Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Rush throws an uppercut from half a mile away. Liddell sees it coming and avoids it easily.

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.
