The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Brookins throws a head kick that half lands.

Bowden instigates a clinch.

Bowden pulls guard.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Bowden is trying to keep Brookins in close.
Bowden looking to control but Brookins passes into half guard.
Bowden trying to hold on to Brookins's head to control him but Brookins postures up.
Bowden keeping his head moving to avoid the ground and pound.
Bowden wants to get back to full guard.
Brookins has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.
Bowden is trying to control but can't.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Still in half guard, Brookins seems content to control.
Brookins tries to stand and escape but Bowden is controlling the position.

Bowden preventing any damage for now, controlling his opponent's head.

The ref calls for a clean break and stands the fighters back up. Dan Bowden wasn't active enough on the ground.
Brookins throws a head kick that looked like it stung.
Brookins scores with a kick to the body.
Bowden looks gassed!
Brookins moves out of range of the strikes.
Bowden misses with a takedown attempt - Brookins sprawls well and throws a nice strike on the way out which just misses.
Bowden takes a shot right to the bread basket.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
Brookins seems to be stalking Bowden here. He circles momentarily and then unleashes a devastatic head kick! Bowden drops like a stone, out cold! WOW! Are you kidding me!? What a knockout!
