PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Yuoki Akamara (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Joseph Minota (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Akamara comes into the arena with Illuminati blaring out of the sound system. Rumors backstage are that the fighters have been paid to keep it standing but we know that would never happen in MMA!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 8 - 5 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Yuoki Akamara!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 5 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Joseph Minota!
The judges for this bout are Anni Minnemäki, Tarja Halkonen and Roosa Järviläinen.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Akamara scores with a hook.
Minota changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Akamara tries to avoid it but Minota manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Akamara to the ground. Akamara escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.
Minota looks for a takedown but Akamara sprawls well.
Minota shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Akamara but Akamara pushes him off and we're back to square one.
Yuoki Akamara has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Joseph Minota.

Minota fakes high and shoots in for a takedown but Akamara avoids it really well and circles away.

Akamara stuffs the takedown attempt from Minota. Minota gets slowly back to his feet.

Akamara bobs and weaves and unloads with a good uppercut.

Akamara feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
