The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Calliente looks for a takedown. He's got it. We're now in half guard.
Niswender is pressing down on Calliente's left leg trying to get back to full guard. He's managed it.
Calliente loading up with the ground and pound but he's missing more than he's landing in this flurry.

Niswender got a little sloppy there for a moment and Calliente has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Niswender has managed to get both his arms back between Calliente's legs - danger averted.

The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.
Calliente is staying active underneath Niswender, who seems content to just control the action from this position.

Niswender lunges at Calliente with a hook that half lands and is half blocked by Calliente's hand.
Calliente takes a punch right to his stomach. That took the wind out of him momentarily.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
Calliente takes a shot to the nose. Hopefully that hasn't broken it.

Niswender wings a very wild body shot but it does the job and lands to the midsection.

Niswender cracks Calliente with a nasty uppercut that draws ooohs from the crowd and sends Calliente tumbling backwards onto the mat. He tries to recover but Niswender pounces and lands a hail of unanswered strikes that forces the referee to step in to end the fight! Calliente is not happy but he gave the referee no choice!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 4:33 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Orin Niswender!
