Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Yrjo Pieru (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Karva Jorgos (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Jorgos is bobbing his head along to his entrance song: Schnappi Das Kleine Krokodil . These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 6 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Karva Jorgos!
The judges for this bout are Tatsuya Matsuyama, Shigeki Sano and Ren Mimura.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Decent striking displayed by Jorgos there.
Pieru lands a powerful looking uppercut that connected with his opponent's jaw.
Jorgos fails with a takedown attempt from distance.
Pieru misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.

Pieru clinches up against the ropes.
Jorgos is trying to break the clinch but Pieru has him pressed against the ropes.
A frustrated look appears on Pieru's face as he tries to break the clinch.

Pieru pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat.
Pieru fakes a head punch and goes low to the body. Nicely done.

Jorgos tries to land with a swinging hook to the body but Pieru was well out of range. Poor timing from Jorgos.

Jorgos digs a right hand into Pieru's ribs. Those have got to be taking their toll on Pieru's gas tank.

Jorgos is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.

Jorgos avoids a punch combination nicely.
Pieru needs to keep his hands up - Jorgos had a free shot at his head there.

Jorgos shoots for a double leg takedown but Pieru sprawls well. He's pushed Jorgos's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily.

Karva Jorgos showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action. Let's hear some noise people - this is the final round!


Pieru will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.
Pieru uses decent footwork to sidestep a right hand from Jorgos.
Jorgos looks to score with a jab to the body but Pieru is just out of range.

No joy there for Jorgos, who threw a few shots but didn't land.
Pieru throws a jab to the body, straight down the pipe. Boom. That sent Jorgos stumbling backwards but he manages to regain his composure quickly.
