Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Cormac Whelan (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and David West (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Whelan's entrance music is Bonny Portmore. A fine choice. David West has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

The judges for this bout are Steven Brown, Paul Tew and James Atkins.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Whelan misses with a jab, cross combination.
Whelan throws a body punch but West moves out of range.
West lands a jab. Then a cross. Then finally a nice hook to the body. Good work there by West.
Whelan slips in close and lands a nice hook before moving back out of range.
Whelan tries to land with a swinging hook to the body but West was well out of range. Poor timing from Whelan.
Whelan lands an overhand right.

It looks like David West has been cut.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
Whelan connects with a crisp jab.
West misses with a two punch combination.
Whelan just misses with a punch to the body.
West tries to land a leg kick but Whelan saw it coming and moves away.
Whelan looks to land a left hand but West moved out of range nicely.
West misses with a wild combination.
West fakes high and shoots in for a takedown but Whelan avoids it really well and circles away.
West throws a nice looking combination but Whelan bobs and weaves to avoid any damage.
Whelan works his jab well there, keeping his opponent at a distance.
Whelan moving in and out of range nicely, whilst landing the scoring shot.
West misses with a looping right.

Whelan fakes low and throws an overhand right that catches West on the side of the head.
West falls off balance throwing a combination
and Whelan counters with a shot to the ribs. That looked like it hurt.
West looks gassed!

That's one minute gone in the round.
Whelan clobbers West with an overhand right that has the crowd gasping. That made a horrendous noise.
Whelan ducks down and throws a hook to the body but West moves away.

Whelan lands a left and a right that send West crashing to the mat, dazed. Whelan thinks about following him to the mat but decides to wave him back up to his feet!

West is rocked!
Wow, both these guys are really going for it!
Whelan dips down and scores with a jab to the body.
West is still on wobbly legs! Can Whelan finish him?
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
Whelan measures up his opponent and throws a superman punch that connects to the jaw! Down goes West! The ref steps in, and that's the ball game folks!
