Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between David Miller (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Shawn Sandman (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Miller's entrance music is Why Can't We Be Friends?. A fine choice. Sandman comes into a darkened arena with his song building. Enter Sandman kicks in, the lights come on and the crowd goes wild! What a showman! Shawn Sandman has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 6 - 1 - 0, fighting out of London, David Miller!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 6 - 2 - 0, fighting out of London, Shawn Sandman!
The judges for this bout are Richard Clark, Andrew Berry and James Ackerman.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Miller shoots in and drives through. Sandman sprawls well.

Miller shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Oh and he's advanced to full mount straight away.
Sandman tries to reverse the position but Miller maintains control.
Miller wants to control the pace but Sandman is squirming around nicely.
Sandman working to try and regain half guard.

Miller looking to secure an arm triangle but Sandman defends it well.

Miller is working on an americana here. Ooh, that looks pretty nasty! Nope, Sandman has managed to escape the submission attempt.
Miller moves to back control.

Miller is looking to finish the fight by rear naked choke. Sandman knows exactly what he's got planned though, so he's defending well. Maybe a few strikes would soften Sandman for a finish.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Miller is looking for the choke from the back position but Sandman is controlling his hands well.

Miller has his hand under the chin of his opponent looking for the choke. He's nearly got it! This one could be all over! But no, Sandman has freed his hand and lives to survive another… well, another couple of seconds at least!

Miller working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Sandman doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Sandman manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.

Miller isolates an arm and boxes in a triangle. Sandman stacks Miller on his neck as he steps over and passes to the side. He's now in a much more dominant position where he can look to do some serious damage. Nice move by Sandman!

Sandman is looking to finish here, going for an Americana. Miller knows the correct defense though, so he's OK.
Sandman creates a bit of distance and throws down some hard shots.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Sandman connects with a decent looking elbow from side control that caused Miller some visible discomfort.

That's time! Miller's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight.


Sandman fails to land with the punch combination there - jab, cross, hook, miss, miss, miss.
Sandman connects with a body shot.
A bone on bone clash there as Sandman blocks the leg kick.
Miller fakes high and shoots in for a takedown but Sandman avoids it really well and circles away.

Miller is thinking about an arm triangle here, looking to tighten it up before moving to side control. Sandman can see it coming though and defends well with a couple of strikes to the head and some good arm positioning.
Sandman is writhing around trying to get back to his feet.
Sandman is not a happy chappy… he wants out of there.

The fighters are battling for position here. Sandman manages to regain full guard. Nice work.

Miller drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Miller jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position.

Miller is looking for a kimura. It's pretty deep but Sandman still has the half guard so he's probably OK. Oh, Sandman has exploded into a beautiful escape there and after a quick scramble, he's ended up in side control on top! Nice work!

The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.

Miller is moving his hips around well on the bottom and has managed to get back to half guard.
Sandman prevents Miller from improving his position.
The two fighters exchange a few words. I couldn't hear what they were saying but maybe it's more fun if you make it up yourself. Sandman connects with a nice short shot to Miller's temple.
Miller gets full guard.
David Miller overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.
Sandman missing there with some ground and pound from the guard.
Miller is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move.

Miller is trying for a guillotine from the top but the pressure isn't in the right place so Sandman is just riding it out for now. Miller eventually gives up the hold.

Miller frees up his trapped foot and advances to mount.
Sandman keeping his composure momentarily, calmly looking to get back to half guard.

Sandman is trying to escape the mount but Miller keeps good control and instead manages to take Sandman's back.

Sandman breaks Miller's hooks off and manages to turn into his guard.

Sandman got a little sloppy there for a moment and Miller has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Sandman has managed to get both his arms back between Miller's legs - danger averted.

And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

That was a close second round but I would say that David Miller will probably get the nod.
The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business. This is the final round!

Shawn Sandman is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.

Sandman lands a nice hook to Miller's body. Miller takes it in his stride and looks to land his own strikes.

Miller closes the distance and clinches up, looking for a takedown. He shifts his weight and gets a nice trip into half guard.

Miller is looking for a kimura but Sandman is holding onto that half guard position, so it's hard for Miller to get the leverage.

Miller seems like he's working for an arm triangle here. He's freed his trapped foot and he's rotating nicely. Sandman is in big trouble! He's tapping out! This one is aaaaaaaaaaaall over!
