Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Vince Bartone (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Andy Stone (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Stone has chosen I stand alone - Godsmack as his entrance music. Vince Bartone has the edge in experience - let's see if he can make that count tonight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 5 rounds, for the lightweight championship of the world!
Introducing the champion to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 8 - 2 - 0, fighting out of New York, Vince Bartone!
And introducing the challenger to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 10 - 7 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Andy Stone!
The judges for this bout are Taro Takaoka, Hirohito Nitta and Yukihiro Shimada.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Stone slaps away a takedown attempt from Bartone, before circling back to the center of the mat.
Stone throws a nice looking combination but Bartone bobs and weaves to avoid any damage.
Stone throws a right high kick that is partially blocked by Bartone.
Stone steps to the side to avoid the strikes from Bartone.
Stone throws a leg kick but he was too far away and it doesn't land.
Stone misses with a jab, cross combination.
Stone lands a jab, followed by a cross and another cross, as Bartone backs up against the cage.
Stone lands with a thumping leg kick.
Stone looks to score with a combo but nothing lands.
Stone throws a big shot that misses.
Stone throws a low kick but Bartone moves out of range easily.
Bartone blocks a head kick by Stone.
Bartone has a takedown stuffed.

A telegraphed right hand from Stone misses the target.
Stone will need to close the distance a bit before he attacks - that leg kick was thrown from too far away.

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.

Bartone tries for an arm triangle. That looks pretty tight to me. Is this one over!?! Possibly, maybe, no Bartone has let go of the choke. Obviously it wasn't as tight as we thought!

A close round but Andy Stone will probably get the nod.

Bartone shoots in looking for a takedown. Stone tries to sprawl out of it but Bartone keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Stone manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.
Stone throws a monster uppercut resembling something out of street fighter but it doesn't land.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
A looping hook to the body misses from Bartone. Stone does a little dance to reset his feet.
Stone throws a lazy right hand but Bartone sees it coming a mile off and sidesteps it easily.

Bartone displays some good footwork, moving neatly out of range as Stone throws out the jab.

Bartone throws a right and a left that Stone avoids nicely.

Bartone looks to score with a jab to the body but Stone is just out of range.

Bartone feints and as Stone raises his hands in defense, Bartone changes levels and drives through with a takedown into guard.

The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult.

Bartone throws a strike but Stone rolls with it and manages to sweep. Now he's in guard on top.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.
Stone content to sit in half guard and control for a moment.
Bartone tries to roll over but Stone keeps him under control.

That was a close second round but I would say that Vince Bartone will probably get the nod.

Stone lands a vicious shot with the stealth of a sniper and the strength of a viper. Are vipers that strong? I can think of lots of things that are stronger than a viper - not many rhyme with sniper though.
