Gomes comes to the cage accompanied by Juelz Santana - Murda Murda. Rick Thompson will no doubt be trying to keep this one on the feet, where he has a distinct advantage.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Thompson tries to clinch up.
Thompson lands a jab to Gomes's midsection.
Gomes takes one to the chin there.
Thompson swings for the body but Gomes moves out of range.
A looping hook to the body misses from Thompson. Gomes does a little dance to reset his feet.

Thompson lands a left and a right that send Gomes crashing to the mat, dazed. Thompson thinks about following him to the mat but decides to wave him back up to his feet!

It looks like Martin Gomes has been cut.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
Gomes changes levels and scores with a jab to the body.
Thompson looks to score with a combo but nothing lands.
Gomes tries to shoot in for a takedown. He's got hold of a leg but Thompson swivels and escapes.
Gomes misses with a jab to the body
and Thompson connects with a straight left hand counter down the middle.
Gomes throws a hard body shot but it just misses.
Thompson throws a nice looking combination but Gomes bobs and weaves to avoid any damage.

and Thompson counters with a right hand to the body.
Gomes dips down and scores with a jab to the body.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Thompson fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Gomes manages to avoid it.
Gomes is looking to wear down Thompson with body shots, infact he's throwing more body shots than head shots at the moment.

Thompson drops Gomes with a beautiful combination! Gomes stares up at his opponent, who ushers him back to his feet - Thompson is looking for the KO!

Gomes is rocked!
Thompson lands with a jab that stuns his opponent. Gomes is looking to close the distance but Thompson sees it coming and throws a beautiful knee! Gomes crumbles to the mat and that's all she wrote! Let's hope Gomes is OK because that was naaaaaasty!
