The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Mayweather slaps away a takedown attempt from Laruso, before circling back to the center of the mat.
Laruso changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Mayweather tries to avoid it but Laruso manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Mayweather to the ground. Mayweather escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.
Mayweather stuffs a takedown. It's all about dictating where the fight takes place and Mayweather wants it to stay on the feet.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Daniel Laruso. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Laruso looks frustrated there after his takedown attempt is stuffed easily.
Laruso shoots in looking for a double leg takedown. Mayweather defends it nicely.
Horrible takedown by Laruso or perhaps it was just good defense by Mayweather which made him look bad.
Mayweather throws a right hand that Laruso ducks under and follows up with a left that Laruso also avoids with ease.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Laruso shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Mayweather but Mayweather pushes him off and we're back to square one.
Laruso really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.

Mayweather throws a right hand that Laruso ducks under and follows up with a left that Laruso also avoids with ease.
Laruso throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Mayweather's waist but Mayweather gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Laruso off to one side.
Mayweather misses with a series of wild punches.
Laruso shoots in for a takedown but Mayweather shows good takedown defense.
Laruso shoots for a takedown but Mayweather saw that one coming a mile off and avoided it easily.
A combination from Mayweather does no damage.
Laruso shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Mayweather but Mayweather pushes him off and we're back to square one.
Nice takedown defense from Mayweather. No joy for Laruso on that attempt.

Mayweather lands a nice shot to the body.
Mayweather lands a nice hook to Laruso's body. Laruso takes it in his stride and looks to land his own strikes.

Mayweather lands a really nice looking cross but Laruso seems unphased.

Laruso on the wrong end of an overhand right that came out of nowhere.
Daniel Laruso seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Mayweather cracks Laruso with an open hand slap.
Laruso takes a body punch that cleary hurt but he's trying not to show any weakness.

Mayweather feints and then winds up with a huge right hand that connects perfectly and sends Laruso sprawling to the canvas! Laruso rolls over backwards and springs off the cage and manages to regain his footing - how acrobatic! Oh, he's still wobbly - can Mayweather finish him?!

Laruso is rocked!
Mayweather is looking for an opening here. He's unloaded a big left hand that catches Laruso flush on the jaw and sends him tumbling to the canvas! Laruso is out cold! Mayweather holds back from landing any unnecessary shots to his unconscious opponent, as the referee reacts slowly to the situation. A brutal knockout and then some excellent sportsmanship - this guy is my new favorite fighter!
